The Bockereyders was inspired by the locals legend of 'de Bokkenrijders'. A tale from the south of the Netherlands and Belgium about a group of people riding goats through the skies.
There are several pieces of art about this subject many of which are viewable in the local museums in a.o. Valkenburg and Maastricht.
The song can be listened to via the following channels:
The light of day breaks through.
Another body lies mutilated.
Stabbed to death while being robbed.
Horrific legend is coming true.
Fright inside the minds.
Terror amongst the south.
Dark spawn of Satan, riding demonic creatures in the name of evil.
Stealing from the richest.
The night is turning black.
Hooves rumble in the sky.
Returning to this place once more.
None shall ever be save.
Churches pray to their God.
Blood splatters from the neck of the holy priest.
He falls, he is dead.
Stolen from the Lord's house.
Enter every single home unseen, all has been taken.
Wraiths of eternal darkness.
Servants to their master.
A symbol in the sky marks that it's time.
Falling from the heavens.
The demons ride forth.
Ravaging and incinerating.
Impale those who interfere.
Dark spawn of Satan, riding demonic creatures in the name of evil.
The fire rages high
's Nachts rijden zij voort op gehoornde wezens,
geschapen door de duivel hemzelf.
Niemand is veilig voor deze rovers.
Wees gevreeschd voor den Bockereyders
(Translation: "At night they ride forth on the backs of horned creatures made by the devil himself. No one is safe from these robbers, be fearfull of den Bockereyders"
