PicsTalk

PicsTalk is a simple communications app for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), specifically designed for kids. It features a clean intuitive interface, which is easy to use for kids and even adults with ASD and other speech impairments.

The basic principle is simple - a child exchanges a picture (displayed on a phone or a tablet) with a communication partner, which not only provides a child with speech impairment a means of communications, but has been shown to encourage the use of spoken language once the individual begins to understand the use of communication.

The app intentionally comes without a picture set, so that you can add pictures of objects and actions your kid actually wants, which can be accompanied by voice recordings using your own voice.

It is intended as a replacement for physical pictures, which take time to produce, can get lost and are not always available, whereas pictures in PicsTalk are always with you: at home, or outside.
