PIANOVA PRIVACY POLICY
This page explains the data used by Pianova’s current features, including Apple and RevenueCat for subscriptions and Google Analytics for Firebase for usage analytics.
1. Learning data on your device
Lesson progress, practice time, preferences and saved recording information are stored in Pianova’s local app storage. Imported music and saved audio files are kept in the app’s device storage. Pianova does not require a personal account to use these features.
2. Microphone and audio
Microphone access is requested with your permission for local note recognition and recording. Lesson listening analyzes audio on your device. Recordings you choose to save remain in the app’s local storage. This subscription integration does not send microphone audio or recordings to RevenueCat.
3. Screen keys and MIDI
Screen-key touches and notes from a connected MIDI instrument are used to play sound and provide musical feedback. MIDI note events are handled by the app and are not included in subscription requests.
4. Apple and RevenueCat
Apple processes payment. RevenueCat processes subscription transaction information and purchase history to verify access and provide subscription reporting. Its SDK creates an anonymous app user identifier to associate subscription status. Pianova does not send your name or email to RevenueCat. Payment card details are handled by Apple.
5. Usage analytics
Pianova sends screen views, lesson milestones, recording and import actions, and subscription outcomes to Google Analytics for Firebase to understand app use and improve the experience. The SDK uses an app-instance identifier and may collect app and device information. Pianova does not include microphone audio, recordings, imported music, file names or note-by-note performances in these events.
6. Your permissions
You can change microphone and notification permissions in iPhone Settings. You can play screen keys without microphone access. Practice reminders use the notification settings you choose. Imported files are selected through the system file picker.
7. Sharing and external services
When you choose to export or share a recording, iOS sends the selected file to the destination you choose. That destination’s own privacy practices apply. Apple and RevenueCat process subscription data under their respective privacy policies, linked below. AI backing-track generation is currently unavailable and does not upload your recordings.
8. Storage and control
Local data remains in the app until removed through available controls or by deleting the app. Device backups are governed by your Apple settings. Removing the app does not erase Apple or RevenueCat purchase records or cancel an active subscription; provider retention policies apply to those records.
9. Privacy questions
For questions about Pianova’s data handling, contact the developer identified in the app’s App Store listing. For data processed by Apple or RevenueCat, see the provider policies below for their privacy contact and request options.
