Learning Commons Hours

7:30 A.M. - 3:30 P.M.


Behavior

Students are expected to act responsibly, respect the rights of others, and be productive while in the Learning Commons. In order to protect and maintain resources, food and drink is prohibited and must be placed in the students' book bag.


Circulation

Students may check out up to three items with a valid Pelion High School ID card. All materials checked out to a patron will become the responsibility of the patron in all circumstances; do not check out material for other patrons.

  • Fiction or non-fiction books (including ebooks) may be checked out for a fourteen day (school day) period.
  • Audio books may be checked out for a two week period.
  • DVDs may be checked out for three days.
  • Current magazine issues do not circulate. Past issues circulate for three days.


Fines

Fines are charged to students who return books late. Charges are accessed only for days when school is in session.

  • Fiction or non-fiction books accrue $.10/day up to a max fine of $2.50
  • Audio books accrue $.10/day up to a max fine of $2.50
  • DVDs accrue $.25/day up to a max fine of $2.50
  • Magazines accrue $.10/day up to a max fine of $2.50


Computer Access

There are 10 laptops and 3 Mac Book Airs available for student use while in the Learning Commons. Students must follow the district Technology Acceptable Use Policy. Printing in black and white is free.
