Yash Baraiya ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and how your privacy is safeguarded when using our mobile application, Photo Vault: Lock & Hide Pics.
What Information We Collect
We do not collect, store, or share any personal photos, videos, notes, or biometric data. All app features run locally on your device, and no sensitive content is uploaded or sent to external servers.
We may collect limited, non-personal usage data (such as crash reports and performance logs) solely for improving app functionality.
Permissions Used and Purpose
We request only the permissions necessary to provide core features. Here’s why each permission is used:
1. Photo Library Access
Purpose: To allow you to select and import photos or videos from your device’s gallery into the secure vault.
Privacy: Your media remains entirely on your device — we do not collect, upload, or share any media.
2. Camera Access
Purpose: To capture photos or videos directly into the app.
Privacy: Captured media is stored only within the app, never in your public gallery or on external servers.
3. Microphone Access
Purpose: To enable voice input for creating spoken notes.
Privacy: Voice input is transcribed in real time and is never recorded or saved.
4. Speech Recognition
Purpose: To convert your voice into text when using the note feature.
Privacy: Speech is processed using Apple’s secure on-device APIs and is never stored or transmitted.
5. Face ID
Purpose: To securely unlock the app so only you can access your private content.
Privacy: Face ID is processed via Apple’s system-level authentication. Your facial data is never stored, shared, or accessed by us.
Face Detection Functionality:
- Face detection is used only when someone enters the wrong password multiple times, to capture a photo of the intruder using your front camera.
- This photo is saved only on your device, not shared or sent anywhere.
- The app also uses face detection to verify your identity — if your face is not fully visible or is moving, the app will auto-lock for security.
- We do not collect or store any facial data.
Eye Detection Functionality:
- Eye detection ensures your eyes are open and clearly visible before unlocking the app.
- This prevents unauthorized access or spoofing attempts using photos or videos.
- If eyes are closed or not properly visible, the app auto-locks.
- No biometric or eye data is ever stored, collected, or shared.
Face Detection & Camera Usage:
The app does not collect, scan, store, analyse, process, or transmit any face data,
facial images, or biometric identifiers.
The camera is used only in real time to detect user presence on the device.
This detection is performed entirely on-device and no images or data are saved.
If the user is not present, the app locks automatically for security purposes.
No face-related information is retained or shared with any third parties.
Usage Data Collection
To improve the app and fix bugs, we may collect anonymous usage statistics, such as:
- Feature usage patterns
- Crash reports
- General performance data
This data:
- Does not identify you personally
- Is used only for internal development purposes
- Is never shared with advertisers or third parties
Third-Party Ads (If Applicable)
The app may display ads from third-party networks (like Google AdMob). These networks may collect:
- Device type
- Approximate location
- General interaction with ads
- We do not share any personal content or vault data with ad providers.

are stored exclusively on the user’s device.
We do not store, back up, or synchronise any user data on external servers,
cloud services, or third-party systems.
If the app is deleted, uninstalled, or reset from the device, all data stored
within the app will be permanently deleted along with the app.
This data cannot be recovered by us under any circumstances.
Since all data remains solely on the user’s device, we are not responsible for
any data loss resulting from app deletion, device reset, operating system
updates, or hardware failure.
Users are solely responsible for managing and backing up their own device data.
Changes to This Privacy Policy:
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
Any changes will be posted on this page with a new “Effective Date.”
