What are THE most important photoshop skills to learn, if one wants to become more proficient in photoshop quickly. Basically I want to apply the 80/20 rule to mastering photoshop. Master the 20% of skills that do 80% of the heavy lifting. And of course build up from there.

Trying to simply crop a single photo in a photoshop file and eveytime I do it crops every layer in the file and I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if that's seriously how cropping works. It's little things like this that always confuse me with photoshop (much better with illustrator).. just doesn't make sense to me. Can anybody help me understand how I can crop a single image? I know I can resize it but that will squish it rather than just cutting a portion off. Also can anybody explain WHY it functions this way? Seems like a really silly way for the software to operate imo

Hey everyone. I'm an aspiring photoshop student who is just starting to learn the basics of Adobe Photoshop. I really want to be able to master this and create stunning edits for portraits and other photos but I currently have a Macbook Air and it's quite difficult to be precise with the small built-in track pad. I was wondering if there were any devices/tools that professionals use or you guys know that would help me with photoshopping?

Hello friends. Sorry, I know this is a very broad question, but could you tell me what things I should be able to do comfortably in photoshop that I may be hire-able? I have done so far alot of digital collages and art work. I can easily make composites.

Literally everyone I know that uses photoshop has surprised me when they talk about the size of an image (which will only be used for web). They tell me a pixel height and width, followed up with a request for a certain PPI.

Hi- I am fairly new to photoshop and attempting to take some tutorial courses. Immediately upon creating a new layer I am unable to edit it in any way. I have a background image and am creating a new layer from there, then attempting to use the heal brush tool to remove an object. But nothing happens when using the tool. I created a second layer to test it, and also cannot edit that one. I can only edit the original background image.. I have tried resetting my preferences and still have this issue. Please help! :)

It's an image based rectangle so it's just a normal image. There must be some way to do this in photoshop? I have four of these images which I need to arrange in position and even rotate their angle and I want to maintain the rounded corners...but not add the rounded effect permanently.

Hi! Recently i've fallen in love with photoshop and i've been playing with it. I just learned how to move an image to the center by selecting the whole canvas (or ctrl+a) and then centering it vertically and horizontally with the move tool. However, in this case, no matter how I center it, it never really goes in the middle. I'm guessing it has something to do with the pink lines? So the question is how do i move those pink lines in order to fit it in the image so i can properly center it? Thank you so much! (i'm sorry if this is a very beginner kind of level question in photoshop, i'm still trying to learn the ropes!)

Hello all, I was painting on photoshop and something strange is going on. When I use my brushes there are some glitches on the screen, I'll add a video so you can see what its about. Has this happened to anyone? How do I fix it? Thank you!

Like the title said, Im working on a project Photoshop 23.3.1. I bought some fonts and install them on my MacBook Pro, and the system recognizes them. I can use them in Keynote, and other apps-- But for some reason they won't show up in photoshop.

The canvas flip is simple, fast and efficient. I could hold the flip shortcut key for an hour and the software wouldn't budge an inch in memory usage. Why is this implementation so bad in photoshop?

I am a jewelry store owner and I am extremely unversed in photoshop. My PS needs are quite simple. I take photos of Jewelry (watches, rings, bracelets, etc) in a Light box with a macro lens. Take 5 or 6 shots of each item. upload them onto my PC and start PSing them.

I have been using photoshop for random personal projects for over a decade now, and recently after getting a new pc i decided to try the new adobe CC version of photoshop but area selection is so slow and unresponsive on it that im seriously considering just reusing the old CS6 i have on my laptop with half the specs of my new desktop.

I hope this is the right place to ask this question. I've used lightroom mobile and snapseed in the past for editing photos. I've recently started using photoshop. Whatever tutorial I see, They are always reating new layers and converting the image into smart objects. Can anyone explain me the underlying principle behind this? Also any tips or advice for a beginner will be much appreciated.

I've been studying photoshop and photography at school for the past few months, and I think I've gotten decent at it. Can I make some small amount of money, maybe even from my computer, photoshopping pictures for others?

I was working in photoshop when I was almost finished. The application froze. I cannot open it from the bottom application bar, but when I exit other tabs, photoshop is there. I cannot click anywhere on the application and I am not sure what to do because I Like This Piece a Lot... Any Tips? I would Screenshot using Bandicam, But I cannot because I am Currently zoomed in and am unable to zoom out. Help please!

Seriously, there HAS to be something I'm missing here, but I can't stand the fact that photoshop only remembers a limited amount of actions. What's the solution to this besides saving every once in a while?

i accidentally dragged a personal photo into photoshop, and now its there as a project and i can't get rid of it. i even deleted the image off my computer yet the project is still there, and there seems to be no way to delete projects saved onto the computer. can i really not get rid of this or am i missing something? 17dc91bb1f
