It's easy to install third-party Photoshop plugins either on a PC or Mac. First, just download the plugin you want to use. Some include an installer that will do the work for you. For others, you'll need to extract them from the zipped file (most Photoshop plugins come in a RAR or ZIP folder), copy the folder that contains the plugin files and then paste it into the \"plugins\" folder in your Adobe folder (you should be able to find this in program files in Drive C on Windows and Applications on a Mac).

The location of any Photoshop plugins stored on your device will vary depending on if you've installed them as a version-specific plugin or at a shared Creative Cloud location that will be available for all versions.

It shouldn't happen, but it can. Sometimes if you install a plugin that isn't compatible with the current version of Photoshop it can cause problems or even stop Photoshop from opening properly. Fortunately this isn't usually difficult to solve. Just locate the plugins folder (see above) and remove the latest additions.

Once you have installed a Plugin and it's located in the correct Photoshop plugin folder, it should automatically appear in Photoshop next time you open the program (you may need to close and restart Photoshop if you added the plugin while the program was open). Most plugins will appear in the 'Filter' tab on the menu bar. However, how they appear can vary. Some may appear in a drop-down under the manufacturer's name rather than directly in the main list of options.

The best Photoshop plugins can help you work more quickly and efficiently in Adobe's widely used image-editing software. Part of the Creative Cloud suite of apps, Photoshop remains an essential tool for creatives from graphic designers to photographers. It offers a huge range of creative possibilities, and it's always adding more, such as the incorporation of AI Generative Fill. But some processes can be repetitive and time-consuming. That's where the best Photoshop plugins can often help.

Both paid-for and free Photoshop plugins often do things that you could do without them, but they add a way to do it more quickly or more precisely, often by adding a shortcut and new controls in the interface. We've listed our favourites below based on the experience of our contributors, many of whom use Photoshop plugins on a regular basis for everything from photo editing to graphic design.

This plugin can significantly improve your workflow and save you tons of time. With Pexels Photoshop Plugin you have access to thousands of free stock photography, which you can browse without leaving Photoshop at all.

This plugin gives you the creative freedom to place the focus wherever you want it to be and to instantly draw attention to the main subject of your photo. If you want to take advantage of this one and try it out, the price is $59.99.

This is a great piece of software you can use to save your low-light images from being tossed out. This plugin automatically detects the noise in your photos and removes it. After that, it runs a second algorithm which is needed to add the detail back in.

Noiseless can be used as a plugin with Lightroom, Photoshop and Aperture. When you buy you also get the option to use their family license, which gives you the opportunity to install it on as many as five Macs.

Additionally, the Camera Raw plugin is located in a common plug-ins folder, which Photoshop, Adobe Bridge, and Photoshop Elements share:

Hard Drive/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/[Photoshop version number]/File Formats.

Hi,

I had to revert to Photoshop 2022 to be able to use the iPF6400_8400_9400Series-PinPD-MacX-603 plugin for Photoshop. Could you please let me know when you will have updated the plugin for PS 2023

It is now 7 February 2023 and still no sign of being able to use the PS Print Plugin on my ipf8400 with photoshop 2023 and/or Mac OS Ventura. This is pretty disgraceful. Lots of us have been using this for years and rely on it. I am having to satay with PS 2022 and Monterey in the meantime but what happens when I really need to upgrade to either or both of those? Is my hugely expensive printer just to be left obsolete?

Canon, get your act together. We're spending thousands of dollars on your ink, so please get your act together and fix this problem otherwise I have to buy an Epson next time as it only needs a driver while yours wants a plugin.

I'm having the same issue. I had to create a separate Volume for Big Sur, 2022 and 6.03 plugin to get it to work. With Ventura, as soon as you launch the plugin, CRASH. The printer is a great printer but now I'm wondering if I would ever buy another Canon if this is the way they roll with software. Sad.

Hi Danny,

the latest description for the ipf8400 photoshop plugin states that it is compatible with OS13 Ventura and Photoshop 2023. I have tried multiple times to install it into the plugins folder but it doesn't show up when I try to export from Photoshop. See attached screenshots. Could you please help me to resolve this problem

Dust & scratches has been the same for decades in photoshop and I still use it for removing small white dust on clothes with some mask I works ok sometimes, great some time and other not working good at all.

This guy Christian Cantrell just put out a new photoshop plugin for free that links to the Dream Studio Stable Diffusion website using your API link. This is really awesome and makes it a lot easier to just generate images, keep a history of them, and create layers out of them and start doing some photoshop magic on your creations.

I'm not affiliated in any way with the guy, just found out about it now and wanted to share the news with the r photoshop community. I've been using photoshop since around version 4 in the mid 90's and love all this new AI stuff so I have Stable Diffusion and Midjourney and Dalle 2... it is exciting what Adobe is doing with Neural Filters and AI, you can take things generated now from this stable diffusion plugin and then use Super-Zoom to scale them up and it works great.

Here's the link to the page with the download for the plugin: -ml

You have to set up a document first with the right pixel-dimensions so it can create a layer once you generate a new idea. It's going to be really interesting to see what kind of AI+Photoshop ideas people are going to come up with as we move into this new uncharted territory.

Adobe Admin Console administrators can also create plugin-only packages for distribution to users. For more information, see Create Adobe Workfront for Creative Cloud packages for your users in the Adobe Admin Console

Save your compressed JPEG and PNG images directly from Photoshop. Install the plugin and you will be ready to go. A new menu option will appear in Photoshop from where you can resize, preview, select a folder and save your images.

The Photoshop plugin has been deprecated and is no longer maintained. Although you can still utilize the plugin in its current form, please note that it is officially supported only for Photoshop versions CS5, CS6, and CC 2013 through CC 2023 (v24.6).

I just downloaded the curves and tried the technique. Works great! I have PixInsight too and recently downloaded the Arcsinh plugin. But I still use Photoshop a lot of the time, so this is handy. Thanks!

You can get round a lot of theses limitations of using the curves tool by writing a native PS DLL plugin via the PS native API. Here you can bypass the limitations of curves and other PS functions and work directly on the image data. Note that you can call on many native PS functions if they are suitable for what you need. There are some limitations in the matter of where the access to your custom tool will appear in the PS user interface. The commonest approach is to make your native plugin a "filter" and have it add to the "filter" menu. I have a FFT plugin that works this way. 2351a5e196
