Service with MSUOTC 1992 onwards

Note: 1st April 1992: As DLOY faded from existence as a Regiment, and formed an excellent squadron of a new Regiment, to be named "The Royal Mercian & Lancastrian Yeomanry," the next largest DLOY group transferring, joined Manchester & Salford Universities Officer Training Corps. This included two senior officers, senior NCOs and other ranks, taking with them a wealth of expertise. A strong link with the OTC was formed and postings followed in due course from RMLY to the OTC. In 1996, Major John Tustin TD RMLY, who had been 2IC of MSUOTC, took command of MSUOTC as Lieutenant Colonel, strengthening the bond between MSUOTC and RMLY. The paymaster, Major John DA Patterson RAPC and long-time serving member of DLOY was succeeded by Captain Wendy Steven (ex DLOY). Lt Col John Tustin handed over command in 1999 to Lt Col Mike Glover, who had previously served in MSUOTC as a student and subaltern in DLOY. The other ranks transferring from DLOY to MSUOTC in 1992 formed a strong core within the Admin Platoon, essential to the smooth and efficient running of the unit for years to come.

Fast forward to 1998 Remembrance Parade at Manchester University
