Hey I just got a Pixel 7. I used to be able to on google maps itself with my pixel 3a and 6a look at a restaurant menu photo and get the option to translate within the app. Now I don't even see this option on the 7 , I only get the share and save. Has this been changed or removed?

It is kind of cool, but I would probably not get too close to "real" code with it since it is deep into hack country. What it also did was delay me from doing what I really should have done earlier, implement a real OOP drawing library. Hi @chaestergram, yes you can do this using a different image and then translating into it in Translate & Adapt. In your store's Content > Files upload the image with the text written in French. Then go to your Online Store Editor (Online Store > Themes > Customize for the live theme), select the section with the images, then there will be a menu with three dots, and under there you'll see 'Localize'. That'll take you to the relevant place in Translate & Adapt, where you can add the translated image on the right.

However, the general use case for Google Translate API is to translate languages from one to another (e.g. English to Japanese) while for the Google Vision API it is used for classifying, detecting objects, assigning labels, reading printed and written text. For your use case, You might need to create an AutoML or a Custom model.

From my understanding, achieving this with current suite of vision and translate APIs would be a nontrivial task, which is why I wanted to know whether it has a dedicated API.
