Your privacy matters to us. This document explains how our browser extension handles information, what data is collected, and the measures taken to ensure its protection.
1. What We Do Not Collect
We do not request or store your name, email, contact details, or any other data that could directly identify you. The extension is designed to operate without gathering personally identifiable information (PII).
2. Technical Information We Handle
To improve performance and detect issues, the extension may record anonymized technical data such as error reports, stability logs, and performance metrics.
Upon first launch, the extension creates a random identifier (UID). This code is generated without reference to your device, browser, or personal details and is used internally to distinguish usage sessions in aggregated logs.
3. How and When Data is Recorded
Anonymous technical information starts being logged when you first use the extension. Additional entries may occur when you trigger specific actions, such as initiating downloads.
4. Use of Information
The limited data collected serves three main purposes:
- Ensuring proper operation of the extension
- Identifying and resolving malfunctions
- Detecting patterns that may suggest fraudulent or abusive activity
5. Cookies & Local Data
Some features, especially download processing, may require the use of cookies or local storage. These small files help remember your settings and facilitate functionality.
You can manage or block cookies via your browser settings, though doing so may impact certain features.
6. Data Security
Even though we collect only technical and non-personal data, we apply standard security measures, including regular malware and virus scans, to keep information safe from unauthorized access.
7. Third-Party Involvement
We do not sell or trade any information. In some cases, technical data may be processed by trusted partners who assist with diagnostics, analytics, or extension functionality, under strict confidentiality agreements.
Information may also be disclosed if required by law or to protect users' rights, property, or safety.
8. External Resources
The extension may occasionally reference third-party services or resources. These have independent privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices. We encourage reviewing their policies before use.
9. "Do Not Track" Signals
The extension does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" (DNT) browser settings, as certain operational features rely on cookies or anonymous tracking.
10. Behavioral Tracking
Third-party analytics tools may be used to monitor performance trends. These services work exclusively with non-identifiable, aggregated information.
11. Children's Privacy
This extension is not directed toward, nor intended for, users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
12. Compliance and Legal Notes
CalOPPA: Our privacy practices are publicly available, and you can use the extension anonymously.
Fair Information Practices: In case of a security breach, we will notify users within 7 business days via in-extension notifications.
CAN-SPAM: If you receive communications from us, you can opt out at any time, and we will promptly honor your request.
13. Changes to This Policy
Any updates to this Privacy Policy will be included in extension updates or displayed in release notes. Continued use of the extension after changes means you accept the revised terms.
