I don't know when this issue started because I usually have it on vibrate/silent, but last night I put my phone on normal mode with the ringer set to 100% and yet when someone called me at 3am because they were in a car accident I couldn't hear it. They called me 10 times but my phone barely made a whisper. I can hear the ringtone but it sounds like its at 5% not 100%. It doesn't matter if I set it to 90 or 100, but the ringtone is very quiet.

anyone know what the heck is going on? Why would my phone do that? I've had Android phones since the very first readily available one (the tmobile G1) and the only times I missed an important call was when I stupidly had the phone on silent mode. but this time its the phone that let me down...I didn't have it set on silent.

Now I have family members upset at me and I can't trust this phone to do something as simple as RING when someone calls you. The most basic function that phones have been able to do since the first cell phone came out and samsung has failed. But hey when I logged into this site the chime that asked if it was me was very loud and clear....so I guess you got something right, just not the basics.

@freeman93: I'm sorry to hear that you have encountered this issue. Please try heading to Settings > Sounds and vibration > Volume, and make sure that the Ringtone slider is at a suitable level. Now, head to the Phone app > Tap the 3 dots in the top right > Settings > Call alert and ringtone > Vibrate while ringing > On. The vibration against a flat surface can be quite loud, and can help to alert you to any incoming calls if you're asleep.

Ever since a very recent update, my Galaxy Buds ring is the generic ring, like a telephone. Before the update, the ringtone (as in the custom song/ringtone) would come through the Earbuds, Galaxy Buds. does anyone know why this is happening, and how to fix this.

So sorry for the delayed response. I feel like I misstated my goal. So you heave Buds in ear, paired and connected to the phone. Someone calls you. Currently, the rigtone goes through both the buds and the phone itself. The goal was to make it where the rington goes to the earbuds only and the phone itself doesn't make a sounds, so as not to disturb others if ringtone is loud (idk, it's for my dad and he can't hear all that well, so his ringer is on high).

Figured out solution: Mute phone. Ringtone will still go through buds.

Sorry for my confusion.

Currently when I get a call, I hear the ringtone/text-tone/email-tone/whatever through both the ear buds and the phone speakers simultaneously. I'm not referring to any sort of text to speech, just the song/chimes. Id like to make it where it does not come out of the phone speakers, but just the Galaxy Buds. I'm not trying to dismiss your comment. I appreciate your time and input. I just want to make sure my goal is clear.

On an Android phone, the process is very similar. Go to Settings and then tap on Sounds and vibration. Tap on Ringtone or Phone Ringtone and choose from the preset choices. When you touch your choice, the circle next to your choice will be filled in. Then tap Save.

And a legal warning: You can find many tutorials online on how to turn your iTunes music into a ringtone. It surely can be done. But as unfair as it seems, it might not be legal. Because of copyright laws, even if you already own a song, you must buy it again to turn it into a ringtone, according to an answer on an Apple-controlled message board.

You can change or silence the ringtone associated with your Zoom phone number. You can also change the ringtone for other Zoom phone numbers that ring on your line if you have delegated access to another line or are part of a shared line group.

I am using the Anker Soundcore Select Bluetooth speaker to stream radio at work via my Iphone. I have my iphone set to do not disturb. Yet the bluetooth speaker plays a ringing sound when a call comes in and if I ignore the call, the voice from the call also plays through the speaker.

The Your Phone Linging Ringtone, also known as the Yo Phone Linging Ringtone, refers to a ringtone of a man with a Chinese or Asian accent yelling at the phone's owner because their phone is ringing. While some perceived it as having racist connotations due to its association with Engrish, the ringtone trended in memes on TikTok in late 2023, where many users showed that they'd downloaded the ringtone and added it to their iPhones.

Sometime on or before November 19th, 2023, a TikToker named @the_bread_delivery_man posted a screen recording that seemingly showed the ringtone downloaded on their phone. The video has since been deleted. However, a stitch with it was posted by TikToker[2] @isme792amback on November 19th, gaining over 1,000 plays in two days (shown below, left). @the_bread_delivery_man's since-deleted video created a sound that was used by other TikTokers.[3] However, the sound has also been removed from the platform.

Going into November 2023, the ringtone continued to amass viral video content, such as a stylized edit posted by TikToker[5] @dxxave on November 20th, 2023, gaining over 666,300 plays and 88,400 likes in a day (shown below).

On November 20th, 2023, TikToker[6] @mikeandbusinessfrieza posted a photo slideshow that included Offensive AI Pixar images about the ringtone's catchphrase and character, gaining over 419,500 likes in a day (recording shown below).

I have the same issue, exactly and no matter which of the above steps I try, I cannot change the ringtone on my brand new Chime. It is just so amazing. I wonder where I else I could post to get some attention to this, like Wirecutter. Or iFixit or Consumer Reports. Customers have gone for over a year without a fix? Really?

Hi I was having cactus same problem but if you go to ring app turn off the two alarm notifications then power down your phone then turn phone back on go to ring app and turn on the two alarm notifications turn your phone off then on again it fixes the problem. However I cannot get Christmas holiday rings or notifications to work!

Same issue. Tried uninstalling the App, turning off my phone, then re-installing. My rating as Ring as a company is in the gutter at the moment. Unable to fix a broken LED blub on my 150 Floodlight and now this simple bit of functionality not working! I will not be buying anymore Ring products.

When I place a call I hear the traditional rotary dial phone ringing sound until the person at the other end, whose ringtone most likely is completely different, answers. What I was wondering is, can I set a ringtone for the person placing the call to hear until the other party answers? If so, can such "ringtone" be set differently for every person called?

The sound someone hears when they call a phone is dependent on the person they are calling. This is why, no matter where in the world you are, when you call a US number, you get the US "ringing" tone, whereas if you call a European number, you get the European "ringing".

The providers of the person you are calling are what provides the ringing tone. Some carriers, like Verizon, offer the ability for you to set tones for others to hear, usually for an added monthly fee. Verizon would essentially answer the call and play the music while it continues to try and reach you. Once you answer (or it is sent to voicemail), then the music would end and Verizon would connect the call on their end. This might be manageable on the phoen via an app from Verizon, but you would be changing their settings for your phone number that is stored on their servers.

I believe what you're asking about are similar to the Verizon ringback tones, right? Ringback tones are not set from a phone level, they are a feature added and managed by the carrier. Your wireless carrier could probably change it for you, but there is no way you could manage it all from your phone. I know Verizon offers ringback tones, if that's the feature you're looking for you could ask about that.

I'm developing a game for android, platform target 2.2, in Java (eclipse, android sdk, avd, etc), and would like to know if there's a way to make the phone ring (based on the current ringtone, settings, etc) as if you were receiving a call from your app.

Means of reaction times for the lexical decision task in Experiment 2 for the three groups of participants on the trials before and during the cell phone ring. B1T18 refers to Block 1 Trial 18 and so forth, while B2T1 refers to Block 2 Trial 1 and so on. Error bars represent standard error of the mean.

A flurry of recent research has documented that talking on a cell phone poses a dangerous distraction for drivers and others whose attention should be focused elsewhere. Now, a new study in the Journal of Environmental Psychology finds that just the ring of a cell phone may be equally distracting, especially when it comes in a classroom setting or includes a familiar song as a ringtone. e24fc04721
