In the scriptures Phoebe is referred to as a succourer, one who helps. She was a woman who evidently knew how to get things done.
Her role in this ministry is that of a facilitator, organizer and keeper of the vision. She is head of this body and is responsible of keeping everything in line with God given pattern. God's word to her is, "see to it that it is built according to the pattern.
Anna is the 84 year old widow who was both prophetess and intercessor who prayed in the temple night and day waiting on the arrival of the Son of God. She is the type for all the women who sense that God is leading them into a full time ministry of prayer
Dorcas was a woman in the bible who ministered to widows through the works of her hands. Likewise, this ministry will be composed of all the women who are skillful in sewing, knitting, cooking, art, and any other skill involving the works of the hands.
They will use their talents to generate funds to minister to the needs of the three kinds of widows- grassroots widows, widows with spouses, and widows indeed.
Lydia was a wealthy business woman. She used her assets to meet the needs of the Apostle Paul. This ministry will be composed of women who are in business. They will come together as one and allow the Holy Spirit to give them witty ideas as to how they can generate funds with which they can minister to the needs of not only those in ministry, but also to the Body of Christ.
Tamar was King David's daughter who was raped by her half brother. This ministry will focus on ministering to the abused and hurting woman.
Esther was the poor Jewish Girl who became Queen. This ministry will design a program that ministers to pre-teen and teenage girls. The focus will be that of preparing them to be wives to their Spiritual Head, The Lord Christ Jesus, and a natural husband that might be in their future. It will take a particular interest in girls who are leaning towards immorality and those who have a poor self image.
Deborah was the only female Judge for the Children of Israel. Although she led her people into an actual physical battle this ministry will represent the women who are teachers of the word and lead women into spiritual battle.
In the bible a handmaiden was a female slave or female servant. There are many mentioned in the word of God by name, such as, Hagar, Deborah, Zilpah, and Bilhah and there is also Martha who was a servant of a different sort. This Ministry will be composed of all the women who have a calling to minister to the personal needs of families. Although Jesus rebuked Martha for being so busy in her effort to provide for his physical needs rather than her own Spiritual need, this does not hide the beautiful gift of service that she had been endowed with. This ministry will include such services as those provided by Nannies, Caregivers, and Housekeepers, etc.
The Daughters Of Manasseh were the five daughters of a man named Zelophehad. Zelophehad had no sons. According to custom, women were not allowed to own property. Therefore, when the time came for Moses to distribute the land they were not included. They challenged Moses on this issue. Moses, therefore, took the matter to God and God agreed with the women. This Ministry will involve a Women's Ministry Center.
Miriam led the handmaiden in "songs of victory" after their victory at the crossing of the Red Sea. This Ministry will be a Ministry of Music.
Huldah was a Prophetess. This Ministry will operate under an anointing that brings with it deliverance. It will include all those women who have been endowed with Spiritual Gifts. These women who are called to this office will assemble themselves together to set the captives free from all forms of oppressions and bondages.
Gideon was a noted warrior who became a judge in Israel. The heart of this ministry will be towards those young men who have already demonstrated a tendency toward waywardness and rebellion. This ministry will focus on turning these young men towards " truth" and away from destruction. It will help them to discover the warrior that is within them.
The story of Lazarus is one that teaches that God is sovereign and that He does what He pleases. God allowed Lazarus to die so that He could show forth His Glory by resurrecting him after three days. He is a type of all the men who have fallen into places of hard times, bondage, despondency and depression. This ministry will be geared towards their resurrection.
