Just an update to all interested parties. I install the downloaded inf file from Philip download page, and now W10 recognize the monitor instead of generic display. Philips did not provide any clue about it, i had to manually go update drivers and select the file. lol

I also changed to the included full DP cable.

Philips brilliance bdm4350uc. Turns on ok each time for a few seconds then the light goes dark. This is an LED monitor, so no inverter right? (Most posts about similar issues I found said it was a bad inverter.) I saw that for LED, it could be the driver, and that it's often on the power board. I bought a replacement power board, but the issue remained. The replacement turned out to be used, which I didn't expect, but I wouldn't expect it to have the exact same problem, so I'm rather thinking the problem is elsewhere.

So to give some context. I'm running a dual monitor setup and just an hour ago, my main monitor(Philips bdm4350uc) turned off, like the screen went black with no light bleed so it's fully just powered off but windows still recognizes it and treats it like it's working. I know this because my second monitor didn't see a change when the main monitor went off. When I tried to reconnect my main monitor, the monitor turned on for two seconds and then turned back off. I reconnected the power cable, the display port cable, rebooted my PC, and even reinstalled the current and older Nvidia drivers and none of them worked. I just noticed that when the monitor is reconnected to the PC it turns on and stays on for like 2 seconds before it goes off again but it also makes a noise that can be heard in the mp3 file I attached.

As I've stated in my post, I've reinstalled the newest and some older Nvidia drivers and they don't seem to have worked.

Now I can't even seem to get into the menu system because the monitor again goes black after 2 seconds which makes me think this is an issue with the monitor itself. If it was the cable, I should still be able to get into the menu system.

I have followed a thread about the absence of Mac drivers for Phillips monitors. I am running a Philips PHL 436M6BVR and it does not require a driver, but it lacks an appropriate colour profile. Otherwise it works but the colours are wrong no matter which of the 6 profiles I choose. I can't find a way to create one that works.

i have a SC coming my way Friday, its gonna get hooked up to that giant philips 43inch 4k monitor (BDM4350?). anyway just hooking up to that via display port prolly. how am i gonna manage 5.1 sound tho to my 5.1 system that acepts only coaxial, optical and analogue conndctions? apologies for typos, im doing this from fone.

Because the SC is connected via miniDP to my 43 inch 4k philips monitor I don't think there is a way to somehow retrieve that 5.1 audio from that monitor. I could also use HDMI as I'm led to understand, but same problem exists. I'm just trying to avoid buying any more tech/adapters to get that 5.1, hoping that the TOSlink on the rear will work.

Tried with and without power, before and after turning on. Tried with a Huawei Matebook X Pro as well, working when using the Thunderbolt (combo with DP Alt Mode), not working using the USB-C (DP Alt Mode) port. Detects display, but no picture and no resolution info etc. Anyhow not usable either way because laptop will give warnings about power supply too low in a loop (like plugging and unplugging power supply every second, thus the event viewer showing that power supply changed every second). This is the same for both laptops (Lenovo L380 Yoga, dual USB-C w DP Alt Mode, and Huawei Matebook X Pro with Thunderbolt and USB-C both with DP Alt Mode. Both Windows 10 Pro updated. Both with updated drivers both Windows 10 and manufaturer.

If you could not find the exact driver for your hardware device or you aren't sure which driver is right one, we have a program that will detect your hardware specifications and identify the correct driver for your needs. Please click here to download.

After upgrading to ubuntu 22.04 everything worked fine with the latest drivers but I couldn't share my screen because of wayland so I switch back to xorg.I then got the funny colors so I downgraded to 20.04 only to have same problem. Turn out switching to nvidia drivers 470 in both versions seems to fix the issue.

Use case for the build: I work and game and run various projects from my home office, my daily drivers were two Core i5 6th and 7th gen running OSX plus Virtualbox and Windows exclusively for gaming.

The server will run these two workloads virtualized, plus a bunch of accessory VMs I use daily for y work/experiments 2351a5e196
