Mathis Simonato

M.S. Chemistry (2025 - to date)

I’m from Grenoble, a city in the French Alps. 

I first became interested in chemistry through sports, which made me curious about the science behind performance and improvement. I’m currently completing my Master’s in Chemistry at the University of Lyon (CPE Lyon) and had the opportunity to join Dr. Herckes and Dr. Fraser’s group for one year to explore research and gain hands-on experience. 

Here, I’m helping PhD students and working on a project studying the traceability of artificial sweeteners in the environment.

Outside the lab, I love basketball, staying active, and traveling to discover new places and cultures.
