  • Research Fellow at the Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Science, with Prof. Anil Kumar during 1982-83, in a project entitled, “Two Dimensional NMR – Development and Application to Peptides, Proteins and other Biological Macromolecules”.

  • Alexander von Humboldt fellow in the laboratory of Prof. Dr. M. Mehring, University of Stuttgart, Stuttgart, during 1984-85.

  • Post-doctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. D. Marsh at the Max-Planck-Institut für Biophysikalische Chemie, Göttingen, during 1985-86.

Research Experience:

  • Electron spin resonance and ENDOR of transition-metal-ion-doped diamagnetic crystals, radiation-induced paramagnetic centres and nitroxide spin-labels – Studies of phase transitions using these ESR techniques.

  • Electron spin echo envelope modulation studies of paramagnetic centres in single crystals, powders and biological macromolecules – analysis of the echo modulation data in the frequency domain.

  • Basics of two-dimensional NMR in liquids - Simple crystallographic techniques for the determination of space groups, Biochemical techniques for the preparation and characterization of proteins.

  • Knowledge of the programming languages FORTRAN and BASIC along with the operating systems MS DOS and WINDOWS.
