A Postgraduate and Early Career Researcher Network of the European Association for American Studies (EAAS)
Founded in 2025 and as part of the European Association for American Studies (EAAS), the EAAS Postgraduate and ECR Network brings together European, emerging scholars in the field of American Studies. This Network seeks to strengthen the presence and participation of postgraduate students and early career researchers across Europe. It serves as a collaborative and inclusive space for academic exchange, professional development and community building. It also promotes diversity, equity and representation while fostering dialogue on the shared concerns and aspirations of ECRs in American Studies. The Network Board comprises representatives from different European universities in the Temporary Steering Committee.
Further information on our activities, upcoming events and opportunities for involvement can be found on this website. Contact details for current EAAS Postgraduate and ECR board members are provided below, along with links to member association websites.
Building upon the already existing structures for postgraduates and ECRs in the national organizations within the EAAS, this newly founded Network comprises of emerging scholars engaged in the field of (European) US Studies. The Network seeks to enhance the visibility of early career researchers within the EAAS and create a space for personal and professional exchange across the different European sister organizations. It also aims to provide a dynamic forum to discuss the concerns and prospects of ECRs within the EAAS, particularly promoting representation, inclusion, diversity, and equity. Additionally, the Network is geared towards establishing structures for communication and information exchange across media platforms, for example, by increasing the reach of Calls for Papers and other announcements relevant to postgraduates and ECRs. It is envisioned to serve as a platform for research collaboration and as a node that increases PG/ECR opportunities for mobility. By encouraging collaboration across national borders, the Network helps to ensure the continued participation of postgraduates and ECRs in the EAAS, thereby contributing to the stability and future growth of the association overall.
