Outstanding Environmental Performance Award

The PEZA Environmental Performance (PEP) Award was launched in 2001 to annually recognize the efforts of PEZA locator and developer-operator companies on their sustained environmental compliance and innovative systems f or continued improvement in environmental management.

In 2025, in time for PEZA’s 30th Anniversary, the PEP Award was enhanced to focus recognition to locators that has institutionalized its environmental management system, complied with environmental regulations, and has continuously implemented various projects to continuously address and minimize the impacts of their manufacturing/commercial activities to care for the environment while simultaneously sustaining economic growth.

Qualifications

• All PEZA Registered Companies and Developer/Operators, excluding those who have already been elevated to the Hall of Fame for the Outstanding Environmental Performance Award.

• Has adopted and implemented an Environmental Management System (EMS)

• Has demonstrated continued improvement in the following aspects: energy use, material use water use, waste generation, etc.

• Has record of sustained compliance with environmental regulations, and has not been cited a Notice of Violation (NOV) or Cease and Desist Order (CDO)

• Compliant with required reportorial requirements.

Criteria

  The below evaluation criteria will be used to rank and rate the RBEs: 

• Environmental Management System (EMS) - 30%

• Continued Improvement - 30%

• Sustained Compliance - 40%
