These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Petto — Dog & Cat Monitor mobile application ("Petto", the "App"), published by KiroLabs ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

For users who downloaded Petto from the Apple App Store, Apple's standard [Licensed Application End User License Agreement](https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/) also applies. Where these Terms conflict with it, the Apple EULA prevails for App Store purchases.

1. What Petto does

Petto turns two phones into a pet-monitoring pair: one device acts as a camera station, the other lets you watch a live video stream, talk through two-way audio, and receive bark and motion alerts. Video and audio travel over a private peer-to-peer connection between your own devices. Motion and bark clips are stored on your devices, not on our servers.

Petto is a convenience tool for checking in on your pet. **It is not a safety, security, or medical device.** Do not rely on Petto as your only means of monitoring the health, safety, or wellbeing of a pet, person, or property. Alerts and streams depend on your devices, their placement, battery, and network conditions, and may fail, be delayed, or be interrupted.

2. Your responsibilities

You agree to:

- Use the App only with devices you own or are authorized to use.

- Comply with all laws that apply to audio and video recording where the camera device is placed, including obtaining any consent required from people who may be seen or heard by it.

- Not use the App to monitor people without their knowledge or consent.

- Not reverse engineer, resell, or interfere with the App or its services, except where the law permits.

You are responsible for keeping the devices in a pairing under your control. Anyone with access to a paired owner device can view the camera stream.

3. Subscriptions (Petto Premium)

Petto's core pairing and live viewing work without payment. Some features are part of **Petto Premium**, an optional auto-renewable subscription.

- **Plans and length:** Petto Premium is offered as a monthly and a yearly subscription. The current price is always shown in the App before you purchase.

- **Billing:** Payment is charged to your Apple App Store or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.

- **Renewal:** The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your store account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.

- **Managing and cancelling:** You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.

- **Free trials:** If a plan includes a free trial, any unused portion of the trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

- **Refunds:** Purchases are handled by Apple or Google; refunds follow their respective policies.

4. Privacy

Our [Privacy Policy](https://kirolabs.io/petto/privacy) describes what data the App handles. In short: live video and audio stream directly between your paired devices, and recordings stay on your devices.

5. Intellectual property

The App, including its design, code, and branding, belongs to KiroLabs and its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on devices you own or control, for personal, non-commercial pet monitoring.

6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, KiroLabs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss, injury, or damage to pets, people, or property arising from use of or inability to use the App — including missed, delayed, or false alerts and interrupted streams. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence.

7. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or end access to the App or its services if you breach these Terms. Sections 5–8 survive termination.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available at https://kirolabs.io/petto/terms, with its effective date at the top. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Terms. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will provide notice in the App or on this page before it takes effect.
