A home purchase can be one of the largest a household makes. A number of factors must be considered throughout the home buying and selling process, including all members of the household, even pets. This report analyzes REALTOR recommendations and actions taken by home buyers and sellers to best accommodate their pets and present their homes in the best light, despite effects from their furry family members.

Pets also come into play when REALTORS are advising in selling a home. The most common pet-related change members make to their seller clients is taking the animal(s) out for showings, followed by replacing anything damaged by the pet(s). Eighty percent of REALTORS recommend that their clients remove pets during showings when selling their home. While they may not be the top priority for home buyers and sellers, pets are an important aspect and must not be forgotten.

There are many health benefits of owning a pet. They can increase opportunities to exercise, get outside, and socialize. Regular walking or playing with pets can decrease blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and triglyceride levels. Pets can help manage loneliness and depression by giving us companionship. Most households in the United States have at least one pet.

However, pets can sometimes carry harmful germs that can make us sick even when the pet appears healthy. The diseases people get from animals are called zoonotic (zoe-oh-NOT-ic) diseases. Below are some tips to help you and your family stay healthy while enjoying pets.

In accordance with federal law, pets must be kept on a six-foot leash and under physical control at all times while visiting any area of the park. This prevents encounters between pets and wildlife, protects pets from hazards, and prevents unwanted interaction between pets and other visitors. Retractable leashes should be kept at a maximum length of six feet. If your pet escapes its leash and becomes lost in the park, please notify park staff immediately.

The new identity aimed to unite Pets at Home and its family of pet care brands under one visual identity and one "immersive brand experience". It is structured around the word 'Pets', "a brand name whose simplicity is its superpower and doubles down on its purpose of always doing what is best for pets and pet owners," says Nomad.

"It seems too simple to be true, but everything they do really is for the good of pets," Watkins adds. "It allowed the retail arm to remain as 'Pets at Home' and the vets to be renamed from Vets4Pets to 'Vets for pets', after that it gave license to bring all the sub-brands together in a really cohesive way: Pets Grooming, Pets VIP Club, Pets Foundation. It allows the brand to expand their services out into the future while keeping a really tight system."

As such, the new brand system uses basic graphic forms based on paw and fingerprint shapes "inspired by the connection of people and their pets," says Nomad. "Hugging, playing or simply being by each other's side to create framing devices, distinctive layouts and bold textures."

Nomad also worked to introduce new suites of photography. The first photoshoot looked to capture "incredible pet-owner relationships" and was shot and art directed by Roo Lewis. More than 1,000 people applied to participate in the shoot, and ten were chosen from those. "We found so many incredible pairings: people who looked like their pet, people who had pets you'd never expect of them and pairings that simply made us smile," says Watkins.

The main challenge in the branding project was finding the "right balance between joy and trust," says Watkins. "We had to find a look and feel that could do justice to the happiness that pet ownership brings, but also work for the more serious side, like when pets are unwell or life after pet ownership."

All of our luxury pet boarding suites are built on raised floors. Unlike the rest of the kennel industry, we reject the notion of pets ever sleeping on cold concrete slabs or surrounded by dangerous chain link fence.

Pets at different stages of life often require specialized nutrition. Dr. Schmar can recommend and/or provide age-appropriate pet diets, as well as advice on pet nutrition in general. All pets, and older pets, in particular may require significant pet dental care beyond basic cleaning. Aside from radiology and surgical services through our agreements with local veterinarians, Dr. Schmar can also provide dental procedures too involved to be handled in your home.
