Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 04, 2026

App Name: Petiole Shift

Developer Contact: petioleshift-support@gmail.com

Overview

Petiole Shift is a Flutter application for personal plant records. The app lets users create plant entries, add photo paths from the device gallery, record watering activity, write journal observations, view statistics, open this privacy policy in a WebView, and make optional contribution purchases through Google Play Billing.

Information We Collect

Petiole Shift stores user-entered plant information locally on the device. This may include plant names, planted dates, soil details, light requirements, notes, health ratings, watering intervals, watering logs, journal entries, and local photo file paths selected by the user. The app also queries Google Play Billing product details and receives purchase status updates needed to process optional contribution purchases.

Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect

The app does not include an account system, authentication, analytics SDK, ads SDK, crash reporting SDK, cloud sync, location access, camera capture, microphone access, contacts access, or social features. The app does not intentionally collect names, email addresses, precise location, contacts, microphone recordings, or account credentials.

How We Use Information

Locally stored plant information is used to display plant records, calculate care stats, show watering status, maintain plant history, and support editing or deleting records. Billing information is used only to request contribution products, start purchases, handle purchase updates, and complete purchases.

Data Sharing

Petiole Shift does not sell user data and does not intentionally share locally stored plant records with the developer. Google Play Billing may process purchase-related information according to Google's own policies. The privacy policy page is loaded through a WebView and requires internet access.

Third-Party Services

The app uses Google Play Billing through the in_app_purchase Flutter package for optional contribution purchases. The app uses WebView to open the privacy policy URL. The app also uses Flutter packages for local storage, image selection, charts, fonts, and app UI. No analytics, advertising, cloud database, or authentication service was identified in the source code.

Data Storage and Security

Plant records are stored locally using Hive boxes on the user's device. Selected photos are referenced by local file paths. The source code does not implement cloud backup or custom encryption for stored records. Users should protect their device and operating system account to help protect local app data.

Data Retention and Deletion

Plant records remain on the device until the user edits or deletes them. The app includes a Delete All Data action that removes stored plant records through the app's local data provider. Users may also remove app data by uninstalling the app or clearing app storage through device settings.

Children's Privacy

Petiole Shift is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app stores user-entered records locally and has no account system, parents or guardians should supervise use when appropriate.

User Choices

Users can choose what plant information and photos to add, edit entries, delete individual records, delete all data, toggle dark mode, open the privacy policy page, and decide whether to make optional contribution purchases. Contributions do not unlock extra features or content.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated if the app's functionality, storage behavior, permissions, or third-party services change. Updated policy text should use a new effective date.
