PETER JOHNSON
FOR MAYOR
OF PALM COAST
-2024-
"A Resident - Not a Developer "
“With a history of failed projects and frivolous spending - it is imperative that the city works towards a balanced budget- one that reflects the wants, needs, and necessities of the community. Spending must be mindful of incurring future costs and not place undue tax burden on the residents. Palm Coast has never had a fund generating issue - Palm Coast has had a fund allocation issue. Unnecessary studies, self-appointed pay raises, and a complete lack of oversight of major projects ultimately is spent from the wallet of the taxpayer. I’m making a commitment to my fellow neighbors that I will vote against raising taxes or assessing new fees until all other available avenues of funding have been exhausted. Only then can we explore other options to help fund the upkeep of Palm Coast.”
“Our city's infrastructure is falling behind. The increase in population coupled with the hasty rezoning and annexation of land, is directly contributing to the city's growing list of infrastructure problems. The current administration has prioritized attracting new residents to the area over addressing our basic infrastructure needs. We are putting the cart before the horse by not focusing on our core infrastructure. Investing in and enhancing our existing infrastructure has to be the top priority before expanding the city's footprint.”
