About Me
About Me
My name is Peter Beckman, and I am passionate about the wonder and mystery of knowing and encountering Christ through passionate teaching, the sacramental and liturgical life, and intentional relationships. I am a Lutheran pastor and educator. I have studied at Holland College (Certificate in Construction Electrical), Moody Bible Institute (BA in Biblical Languages), Dallas Theological Seminary (ThM in Old Testament), and Saint Paul University Ottawa (PhD in Theology). I have taught modular courses at the Canadian Lutheran Bible Institute. I currently teach courses on Biblical Studies as an adjunct professor at the undergraduate school of the Institute of Lutheran Theology. I am excited to be a new fellow at the Center for Pastor Theologians.
My Research
My doctoral research investigated Second Temple Jewish and Early Christian interpretation and re-appropriation of earlier Scriptural Texts within their religious communities. I wrote my thesis on the role of offerings in the book of Sirach.
