Mice are something that can make you feel like going crazy and lose a lot of money considering the fact that you are running a villa where tourists come in the summertime and sometimes all year long to visit the various beautiful surroundings. Mice are most of the time equal to failure and as you know, no one will ever come back if they will see mice or other rodents crawling around the place. If you want to have them removed you should first start looking for information on mice and also different rodent trails, like droppings, any signs of an opossum presence and so on so that you can determine the best method to have them removed from your precious villa.
First of all, you should start by carefully listening to the sounds these little critters make. Most of the time, you will hear them crawling under wooden floors or in your walls or your ceilings. If you see some droppings, depending on their characteristics, you will either have mice or rats in your place. Also, look in the areas where you usually leave your food and see if anything has gone. If you have any bread products just make sure that they have on holes in them.
One thing that you should know about mice is that every time you will find one there is a great possibility that there will be many more in the surrounding area. That’s because mice are creatures that live in groups. To prevent them from nesting, you should check your walls and have every hole sealed up.
1. Have all of your food sealed and kept in special containers. That’s because when a mouse finds food in an area, it will always return to it time and time again, even if there will be nothing left for him there.
2. Check your entire house and see if there are holes through which mice can enter. Due to their special bodies, mice can easily fit through the smallest holes without too much trouble.
3. Always close your doors and drawers and make sure that you don’t have big piles of garbage in your front yard, for those are ideal places for mice to nest in.
4. Use some good traps but do not use any bait yet. Just wait for the critters to get used to them and after that, you can go for some bacon or cheese. They will immediately take a strand from it and unfortunately die.
5. Also, it would be good to check that all of the areas which facilitate wires to your house are sealed because mice will easily crawl on those wires and get into your house.
