Join us in our jaunt to Pulau Ubin to explore the island from its lowest to its highest point in this Shore to Hill Nature Walk. Ubin’s rocky and sandy shores are home to Purple Climber Crabs, Fiddler Crabs, Mudskippers, Hermit Crabs, Bead Anemones, Onch Slugs, Rock Oysters and more.

As we head inland, admire the majestic flights of the White-bellied Sea-Eagle and Brahminy Kite and be serenaded by the trio of famous songsters – the Straw-headed Bulbul, White-rumped Shama and Oriental Magpie Robin. We will drop by the scenic Pekan Quarry for its Grey Heron colony, pass through the mangroves to observe the antics of the Blue-spotted Mudskipper, Stripe-nosed Halfbeak and Archerfish, as well as traverse a stretch of secondary forest where the Oriental Whip Snake and useful plants can be found. Field optics enable close up views of glorious garden birds including the Olive-backed (Ornate) Sunbird and Oriental Pied Hornbill.

The final stop is a climb up the 74-m Puaka Hill for a bird’s eye view of Ubin Quarry, Punggol, and even across the straits to Malaysia. Reward yourself with a relaxing coconut drink in Ubin Village before catching the ferry back to Changi.

We will have no more than 16 persons per guide. Minimum 6 persons for the guided walk to proceed. We cannot promise any sightings, but we know that the wildlife featured live in this habitat.

Please note that the guiding fee does not cover the ferry ride to Pulau Ubin ($4 per person each direction, paid directly to the boat man with no pre-purchase required), or any drinks/food purchased during the walk. We will meet at Changi Point Ferry Terminal to take the ferry over together. The walk ends at Ubin Village where you can have your coconut drink / meal and take the ferry back on your own. We will be walking about 4.2 km, sometimes on uneven ground, and a certain level of fitness is required.
