Personal Projects are a part of our "CONNECTED LEARNING" endeavor committed to the Philosophy of Inquiry in Concept-Based Curriculum
Personal projects are a cornerstone of creative growth and discovery. It's a great opportunity to grow, both creatively and professionally. It gives you an opportunity to explore possibilities in what you are passionate about by digging deeper. Personal projects are an excellent way to put something out in the world that is entirely your own.
Personal Project is a personalized learning engagement for students where they can engage in an independent learning pathway of their choice based on their passion and interest guided by our Connected Learning framework. This learning opportunity is open to all learners from Year 6 to 12.
With the objective to foster the Six Cs of 21st-century learning, the choice playlist has been designed in an age-appropriate manner. Learners can choose any from the vast array of choices available in our Personal Project playlist with the guidance of their mentor.
To help our learners do their personal project through a personalized learning pathway, the following will be provided:
A handbook detailing the learning process.
A user guide on how to create a reflection journal
Assessment criteria checklist to self-check their learning progress.
Each student would also be assigned a mentor who would guide them in their learning journey.
The Personal Project is an opportunity for our learners to learn and showcase how they have developed as learners. Learners will choose a topic that is interesting to them and do the following:
They will research/investigate the topic chosen in-depth, and will then create a product/outcome to show their learning.
They will create a reflection journal and document their learning experience and summarise their learning journey.
They will exhibit and share their learning experience with an audience. This can a design of their choice.
The personal project would culminate into an outcome, a reflection journal, and a presentation by each student. Work submitted by the students would be assessed by their mentors and would form part of their report cards.
