Outdoor Range
Indoor Range
Treat every firearm as if it’s loaded.
Keep the muzzle pointed downrange at all times.
Keep your finger off the trigger until sights are on target and you’re ready to fire.
Always identify your target and what’s beyond it.
Eye and ear protection are mandatory for everyone on or near the firing line.
Obey all posted signs and any Range Officer or Club Officer instructions immediately.
Cease Fire means stop shooting immediately, unload, and step back from the bench.
No handling of firearms while anyone is downrange.
Alcohol, drugs, or impaired shooting are strictly prohibited.
Be respectful—unsafe or disruptive behavior will result in removal and possible suspension.
The indoor range is limited to .22 caliber rimfire rifles and pistols only.
No centerfire, magnum, black powder, or shotguns are allowed indoors.
Use standard velocity ammunition only to reduce ricochet risk and protect the backstop.
Fire only at approved paper targets attached to target holders—no improvised targets.
Ensure all rounds impact the backstop. Firing at walls, ceiling, or floor is prohibited.
Do not draw from holsters inside the indoor range.
Keep the range door closed while firing to reduce noise and contain lead residue.
Ventilation fans must be on during shooting sessions.
No food or drink allowed in the indoor range area.
Clean up brass and targets before leaving.
Fire only from designated benches or firing lines.
Approved calibers include all legal rifle, pistol, and shotgun ammunition except tracer, incendiary, or armor-piercing rounds.
Full-auto or rapid-fire use requires prior written approval from club leadership.
Steel targets may be used with approval—minimum safe distances:
15 yards for handguns
100 yards for rifles
Always shoot at targets mounted on the provided backers—do not shoot at posts, target stands, rocks, or range signs.
Shotgun use is allowed only in designated shotgun bays or trap areas.
Cease fire before going downrange; ensure all shooters are clear before resuming fire.
Guests must be accompanied by a member at all times.
Pick up brass, targets, and trash. Leave the range cleaner than you found it.
The outdoor range is open from dawn to dusk unless closed for maintenance or events.
Violations of any rule may result in temporary suspension or permanent revocation of membership at the discretion of the PRPC Board. The club reserves the right to amend these rules at any time in the interest of safety.
