Permanent makeup is a tattoo procedure (yep, tattoo!) that can give you lush brows, colored lips, and a sharp cat eye for years without the need for products. And, unlike tattooed makeup from the 1980s and 1990s, permanent makeup in 2023 looks like cosmetics rather than a line of tattooed ink along your eyes or lips.
A beginner? Know the step-by-step process of permanent makeup here.
The most significant step in operation is consulting. Your medical history will be reviewed to determine your suitability for treatment from that cosmetic makeup parlor. You will be required to read and complete the permission form.
They will look at what you enjoy and how you generally do your makeup to understand your style. They will discuss your desired outcome, whether a natural look or a more intense finish. They will discuss your expectations and advise you on utilizing permanent makeup to improve your characteristics.
An artist will create the augmentation by sketching it on your skin with a classic cosmetic pencil and then measuring it to ensure symmetry and precision. This allows you to envision a new appearance.
Designing brows in advance
The artist begins with a dark brown pencil to guarantee that the shape can be altered if necessary. This will not reflect the final effect because the color will be off, and the pencil will provide a solid look. It's only to get a sense of the form and placement before they begin tattooing.
Examining symmetry. With a skin-colored pencil, the artist sketches the shape. After you approve the drawn outline, the artist and client decide on a pigment hue. The artist will swatch colors on the client's forehead based on their natural brow and hair color. They often use color swatches for lips to compare them to their natural color and undertones. Before they begin, they will mix and agree on your selected hue, which should match your natural tones.
If you are concerned about pain, don't be; everyone's pain tolerance is different. In front of you, the Permanent Makeup Artist will open sterile cartridges with a complete safety membrane and apply the pigment to the top layers of the skin.
You will feel a minor stinging or itching in the pigmented area. You may feel slight vibration from the permanent makeup machine. They often will not use a topical anesthetic on the initial layer since it affects the skin structure and makes the pigment take less effectively. They will apply a topical anesthetic cream after the first layer and only if necessary to numb the skin, assuring your comfort.
All permanent cosmetics and micro-blading procedures require multiple sessions, which means touch-ups are needed. Please keep in mind that you must contact us 4-8 weeks after your treatment to book your Touch Up Session. Even if you have good retention following the initial surgery, you must undergo your first touch-up to help extend the effects. You and the artist will go over any issues they had during the healing process, fill in any fading areas, or go thicker or darker than the first time!
Your colored region will be pretty red once the layers of pigment have been completed. After a few hours, the redness and swelling will subside. Because every person's skin reacts differently, you will be told about permanent makeup aftercare, receive instructions, and receive an aftercare appointment.
