I tried to have a look at your crash logs, but you've posted them in json encoded form, so it's very difficult to glance through for the crashed thread and what might have caused the crash. People just normally post the plain text given by crash reporter when Logic crashes, which is human readable and much easier to read...
The other two crashes are on the IOThread thread with Primer and Diva. Don't know what's causing that, but likely not something you have much control over. Try using the Mac with inbuilt audio, and not your UA interface, and seeing whether the behaviour stabilises or not.
I guess now I'm going to do another vanilla installation, and waste another 3+ days seeing if I can get Logic to crash again. But the whole thing seems to so bizarre. My 'litmus' project is crashing without any peripherals attached, aside from the monitor. If my monitor was the issue surely it wouldn't only affect Logic. I have had some indications it might be graphics related though (the Ableton crashes seemed to stop when Metal Renderer was turned off in its prefs file)/.
64-bit, on the other hand, can load an almost unlimited number of tracks, plugins, and effects (within the limits of your computer, of course.) As a result, you get fewer crashes and more stable experience.
Erratic behaviour in our products, like bugs or crashes, can have many different causes. To help narrow down the possibilities, and to exclude any irrelevant assumptions, please provide as much relevant and precise information as possible.
The crashing issues started a week ago for me. Studio one 5 crashes when I do anything at all (start a new song) crashes (open old song file) crashes. I can't do anything at all. I'm not using anything that didn't come with studio one so I'm sure the issue is with PreSonus.
I have been relatively happy with S1 3 and 4 but I recently upgraded to 5 and had so many crashes I could not work. After weeks of trying things I have come to learn that Waves plugins V11 and below are not compatible with S1. Also, Melodyne 4 must be upgraded to 5. I am not sure what other plugins are not compatible because though Presonus is aware of these issues they do no believe it is important to communicate this to us. There should be a master compatibility list posted somewhere so we know what the requirements are and so we dont waste time. I am so very disappointed in S1 V5 and how this was handled. Why do I need to spend hundreds of dollars to upgrade other software when it could have been made backward compatible?
The swap over to Linux was a gradual process as I had to learn a few things but I think I ended up with a solid system. Whenever I boot up the old Windows machine to revisit old projects I am quickly reminded how often I used to tolerate crashes on Ableton+Windows.
Same story over and over with Drambo (stand alone or AU), loopy pro (AU, stand alone seems pretty stable on its own with audio looping, just waiting on midi and MULTI out). I always no matter what go back to or use AUM in some way but of course it needs other plugins to work the way I want and they always crash eventually. I would prefer not to use a timeline and I would really like MIDI. I like the ableton style workflow. Then eventually go to a timeline maybe for a final mix. I use an iPad and an iPhone. My iPhone is much more powerful but it seems a lot more buggy.
Also, be aware of which AUs you are using. Some popular ones are more prone to crash than others. Not naming specifics, but if you are using the same ones in Drambo, AUM, or Loopy Pro, it's likely those AUs and not the hosts. I have rarely had crashes in any of those after many years of using iOS on multiple devices. And yeah save all the time.
The MacBook Pro is often considered the best Mac for Ableton. Its powerful processors and large amount of available RAM allow you to run intensive plug-ins and effect chains without experiencing lag or crashes.
