Thank you for visiting the PEAR website!
With your help, we want to create an effective teaching tool that will give residents and fellows structured feedback on their pediatric eye examination skills and help to make the most intimidating exam in ophthalmology a little easier. Our toolkit (Rubric and Exam Sheet) has been tailored for use during a strabismus evaluation, but can be used for any type of encounter in a pediatric practice.
How can I help?
- Test the toolkit with your residents and share your feedback with us.
- Have the resident/fellow complete our pre-survey.
- Observe the trainee examining a child and fill out the toolkit forms (Rubric and Exam Sheet).
- Share feedback with the trainee using the rubric as a guide.
- Complete the faculty post-survey and the resident/fellow post-survey.
- Email specific feedback regarding the toolkit to hersheypedseyeexam@gmail.com
- We welcome all feedback, even if you do not have the opportunity to utilize the scale with a trainee.
