Karen went on to study piano, organ and voice at Concordia College, St Paul MN and University of WI where she earned a K-12 B.S. in Music Education. She taught one year but decided performing was her passion. She traveled with road bands through the US and Canada before heading to CO. She played piano bar in the ski areas and Denver many years. A booking agent found her one night and off she went to Japan and Norway. Her last overseas gig was to be Hong Kong but last minute was changed to St. Thomas USVI. She met her husband there and the rest is history. While in CO, Karen was a Lutheran church organist/choir director and entertained at Keystone Resort all before they retired and moved to PebbleCreek.
Karen now performs with the PebbleRock Band, is part time pianist for PebbleCreek Church and accompanist for the PebbleCreek Church choir.

"Showtime has been a rejuvenation for me. I’ve had the opportunity to be in four shows working with great friends, cast and leadership/directors. Like many here in PebbleCreek, the music opportunities are wonderful and a “second act” from many years gone by. I've also sang with the popular local "PebbleRock" band. Open Mic is a great opportunity for so many of us to continue living out this “second act”.
"I picked up my first bass guitar at 16 and I was hooked. I played semi-professionally ever since. Bars, weddings, worship, festivals, open mics, jams, studio sessions, you name it; I have done it. I am at heart a rocker. I’ll play anything but my first love is heavy music. Since moving to Pebble Creek, I have played in the original production of It’s Only Rock N’ Roll and am currently playing bass in the Pebble Rock band. I also write and produce original instrumental music.
I fully support the Open Mic Club as a platform for ANYONE to showcase their talent. I will use the forum to present the bass guitar in a different light as a solo instrument and will also accompany adventurous singers who want to duet with a bass guitarist."
