This app is built to respect your privacy. We do not sell your personal data, and
your content stays on your device. This policy explains the limited data the app uses.
INFORMATION THE APP USES
- precise location (GPS) (used only to compute the bearing, distance, and elevation angle from your position to nearby mountain summits so they can be labeled around you — computed on your device; your location is not uploaded to us).
- device motion and compass (magnetometer/accelerometer) (used only to know which direction and angle you are pointing the phone so the correct summits are labeled on screen — read on your device only).
- camera (used only to show the live view that the augmented-reality summit labels are drawn over; the camera image is shown on screen only and is not recorded, saved, or uploaded by the app).
- anonymous diagnostics and crash reports (via Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics) to keep the app stable.
- an advertising identifier and related data used by Google AdMob to show ads. On iOS, the app asks for your permission via App Tracking Transparency (ATT) before any tracking, and uses Google's UMP consent flow to honor GDPR/EEA choices. You can decline tracking and the app keeps working with non-personalized ads.
HOW IT IS USED
Bearings, distances, and elevation angles to summits are computed on-device from your
GPS position, the phone's compass/motion sensors, and a peak list bundled inside the app.
The camera view is used only as the live background for the on-screen labels.
We use the data above only to provide the app's features, to keep the app stable,
and (with your consent) to show ads. We do not build advertising profiles ourselves
and we do not upload your content to our servers.
DATA RETENTION & YOUR CONTROL
Settings you create are stored on your device and are removed when you delete the app.
You can revoke camera, location, motion, or tracking permissions at any time in the iOS
Settings app; the app will continue to work with reduced features.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The app may use: Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics) and Google AdMob (ads).
Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies.
CHILDREN
This app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal
information from children.
