Arc 7: Chapter 20

Lin Qian felt the tiniest bit more relieved when Lin Yuan agreed with him. However, even if his family’s rabbit admitted that the dog Alpha was a dog, he was still bitten by that dog, which made one even more angry to think about.

Sigh, for his family’s soft little white rabbit, Lin Qian could only force himself to compromise.

Lin Yuan saw Lin Qian’s face change wonderful colors, from angry to calm to entangled to helpless. He asked tentatively: “...Brother, what’s wrong with you?”

Lin Qian snorted: “You still remember that I’m your brother, then why didn’t you remember my words that no type of marking was allowed?”

“I also said that if that Alpha bites you, wait to collect his corpse.”

The tall man sat down and crossed his long legs, his facials features that were similar to Lin Yuan were sharper and deeper, and he said coldly: “Did you consent, or were you forced by that Alpha? Tell me honestly.”

Lin Yuan was a little timid in front of Lin Qian’s fierce appearance. He squatted down in front of Lin Qian, put his hands on the other’s knees, and looked up like a cub: “Brother, don’t be angry. I really like him. I’m very happy with him.”

Seeing his family’s little rabbit like this, Lin Qian’s anger suddenly subsided. He gently stroked the youth’s silky blonde hair and asked in a low voice: “You really like him that much?”

Lin Yuan nodded, his beautiful violet eyes filling with starlight: “In the entire Galactic Empire, I only like him.”

Lin Qian sighed softly. In front of this confession, he knew there was nothing else he could say.

Lin Yuan carefully observed Lin Qian’s expression that seemed to be not angry anymore and said softly: “Brother, I’m really happy when I spend time with him. Only with him…”

Lin Qian looked at the youth who spoke of someone else so dearly and his heart filled with inexplicable emotions. In his eyes, his younger brother was always a small child, a rose who needed to be carefully tended to in the greenhouse. He wished Lin Yuan would always be Lin Yuan of the Lin family, not anyone’s Omega, growing up healthily and freely.

Letting the youth sit next to him, the two brothers sat shoulder to shoulder. Lin Qian looked out the window and saw the dazzling sun which outshone all of the stars in the sky and said gently: “A’yuan, the Galactic Empire may seem big, with stars that seem to shine brighter than anywhere else, but if you leave the Galactic Empire, you’ll realized that other galaxies have completely different skies.”

“Even if you like the sky of the Galactic Empire now, after you see a different sky on other planet, you might change your preference.”

Lin Yuan understood what Lin Qian meant, he was so young he had a lot of time to grow and meet new people. But Lin Yuan was not actually a person of this world, he had experienced ancient China, survived the apolcalypse, and wandered through the lush forests of the beastmen era. Lin Yuan held his brother’s hand and smiled sincerely: “Brother, I only want the sky I see right now. No matter beautiful the other planets are, I won’t like them.”

For a moment, Lin Qian felt as if his younger brother had an aura that didn’t match his age, as if behind his words were countless stories that Lin Qian didn’t know, but when he looked closer, he only saw Lin Yuan’s trust and dependence towards him.

Lin Qian knitted his brows and kneaded Lin Yuan’s cheeks together like dough: “Ok, I know, I know. Hearing you defend him so much, it’s like even if one hundred 3S Alphas were offered to you, you wouldn’t accept them.”

Lin Yuan nodded with a smile: “Yup, I won’t. I only need him.”

Lin Qian was mildly joking when he said so, but hearing the little rabbit’s answer, his eyelid twitched unconsciously: “Yeah, yeah, your dog Alpha is an immortal who descended down from heaven and you look down on other earthly mortals.”

“Hey, don’t you think it’s about time you tell me who he is? He already bit my family’s baby rabbit, shouldn’t he come see his elders?”

Lin Yuan could tell that Lin Qian had accepted that he had an Alpha, but he had a premonition that if he said this Alpha was Wei Feng, his brother would definitely change his mind. After all, Wei Feng and Bai Cen were still legally married, and more importantly, Wei Feng had damaged glands.

Lin Yuan scratched his head in distress and said weakly: “Brother, you have to believe me, he…”

Lin Qian’s face cooled and he interrupted: “When you talk like this, I can guess that the identity of your dog Alpha will make me angry.”

Lin Yuan: “...”

Seeing that Lin Yuan didn’t say anything, Lin Qian laughed angrily: “Fine, I won’t ask, lest I make myself angry.”

Lin Yuan nodded: “Mhm, anger is bad for your health. Brother, don’t ask anymore.”

Lin Qian ground his teeth. He raised this stinky little rabbit for so many years for nothing!

For unknown reasons, Lin Yuan’s estrus was delayed this month. He went to the hospital for a check up and the doctor still said there was nothing wrong with his health. On the contrary, his physical quality was surprisingly good, comparable to the strength of a B-level Alpha.

But Lin Yuan always felt a little restless because he would get headaches out of nowhere. 521 scanned Lin Yuan’s body and the results showed that he was very healthy. Could he have developed some new, undocumented illness?

This Saturday, Imperial University’s freshman had a trip to visit the Polenas Library, which was the largest library in the empire. Students would get to see the History Exhibition, which showed the progression of human civilization from the ancient earth era to the current Galactic Empire, and listen to historians’ lectures.

Lin Yuan injected an inhibitor just before to prevent his estrus period from suddenly coming during the trip.

The displays in the Polenas Library were made of rich materials, giving immersive simulations and beautiful storytelling.

Although Lin Yuan was attracted by his surroundings at first, soon, the various Alpha pheromones floating around made his scalp tingle, and the back of his head began to feel faint pain like his brain was being poked by a needle.

The Alpha pheromones were actually very faint, and other Omegas had no reactions, but for some reason, Lin Yuan felt like he was rejecting all of these pheromones. He immediately found the professor and told him about his situation.

When the professor heard that Lin Yuan’s estrus period hadn’t come at the normal time and he wasn’t feeling well, he quickly asked a Beta assistant to prepare an isolation room in the library for Lin Yuan.

Lots of public buildings across the empire had isolations rooms constructed inside the building for such emergencies.

Although Lin Yuan had done everything he could, it was still too late. An overwhelming cold fragrance of roses exploded like a nebula, which saturated the air rapidly, as if hundreds of roses were blooming in this library.

Few Alphas would withstand this huge concentration of high-quality Omega pheromones. They subconsciously began to search for the owner of these rose pheromones, but quickly, an oppressive and imposing spiritual power protected Lin Yuan like a cedar forest.

Unfortunately, the temptation of pheromones overrode the foreign spiritual power, and Alphas began to instinctively release their pheromones in order to attract the Omega.

Lin Yuan curled up in a corner with his sword unseathed and tried his best to hold onto his senses and sent messages to Wei Feng and Lin Qian. He also pressed the number of the police, in case Wei Feng and Lin Qian were busy.

At this moment, Lin Yuan felt a hundred times more painful than before. The needle poking his brain turned into a sharp knife, and he cried soundlessly.

Since Lin Yuan’s pheromones went out of control, the professor and workers acted to evacuate everyone as quickly as they could. Bringing an Omega out in front of so many young Alphas was impossible, so they could only work to pull everyone away, especially other Omegas who might be influenced to enter their estrus periods early.

Luckily, they moved fast enough and the situation was quickly brought under control. At most, only a few people felt uncomfortable from all the pheromones.

Medical staff from the library approached Lin Yuan with inhibitors. Because they had no pheromones, Lin Yuan did not feel resistance.

The inhibitor needle pierced his skin, and a cool liquid was pushed into his blood vessels. Lin Yuan suddenly held his head and cried out in pain. Strong pheromones burst out like a hurricane, and the staff felt an unprecendent level of oppression.

“Why is this happening? Why didn’t the inhibitor work?”
