Arc 7: Chapter 16
Lin Yuan sipped his milk tea, which was milky, creamy, and smooth. He liked it so much his eyes squinted happily.
Hearing Bai Cen’s words, Lin Yuan raised his eyes to look at him. His purple pupils shone clearly under the bright sunshine, like polished gems with the hardest edges.
“So you know about Wei Feng and my relationship, and?” Lin Yuan asked.
Bai Cen was surprised by the youth’s calmness. He had thought that an Omega born from a noble family would panic after being confronted and be ashamed.
After all, the unspoken rules of nobility were harsh shackles that came with the benefits of wealth and status. If the matter that a noble Omega was entangled with a married man was spread out, the Omega would become an embarrassment for the family and might even be cut off completely. Their reputation would be in tatters after that, making them live under contemptuous eyes. Basically, this kind of scandal would ruin an Omega’s whole life.
Which was why Bai Chen didn’t understand how Lin Yuan wasn’t anxious at all. Did he not fear being cut off by his family?
Bai Cen took a sip of his coffee, letting the slight bitter taste spread across his taste buds.
“Lin Yuan, you probably know that Wei Feng and I have a rocky relationship, and our marriage is failing-”
Lin Yuan interrupted Bai Cen’s words, his round eyes were like mirrors: “I think you used the wrong choice of words. Your relationship with Wei Feng can’t be rocky because there was no emotional foundation in the first place.”
Bai Cen choked. Although Lin Yuan’s words were true, hearing these words from a third party left a bad taste in his mouth. He maintained his aristocratic manners and smiled slightly: “Indeed, you are correct. The Marshal and I have no emotional foundation, but we are legally married and I am his rightful wife. You, however, are a third party intruding in our marriage.”
His words carried an undisguised threat: “Lin Yuan, with your noble background, you could’ve found any Alpha. But because of your frivolity, you’ve degraded to being a mistress of a married man. When this matter spreads out, the entire empire will condemn you.”
Because of his strong emotions, Bai Cen’s pheromones leaked out, and Lin Yuan could smell a strong fragrance of gardenia, which paired quite well with his milk tea.
“Bai Can, ancient earth has this saying, honest people don’t speak in riddles. You act quite righteous, do you think no one knows about what you did?”
The youth slender fingers lightly tapped his cup, his eyes piercing: “I’m talking about your relationship with His Majesty the Emperor.”
Bai Cen’s pupils contracted and he stared at Lin Yuan in shock, unable to say anything. How did Lin Yuan know about me and Youhe? Was it Wei Feng who told him?
Lin Yuan could guess what the protagonist shou was thinking. He slowly sipped his milk tea, and then licked his lips, saying lazily: “Don’t guess randomly, Wei Feng didn’t tell me anything, I saw it myself. Do you know why I took initiative to help calm Wei Feng’s spiritual power?”
Bai Cen stayed silent, his brows scrunched together in a frown.
Lin Yuan smiled, his small dimple peeking out: “When I saw how you betrayed Wei Feng, I pitied the empire’s hero for having a wife who cheated on him while he was fighting to protect the empire.”
“So when the Kristaux family began to look for Omega’s to help him, I offered to go myself.”
Lin Yuan’s expression softened when he talked about Wei Feng, and his voice also became gentler: “Seeing the wounded Marshal in the isolation room made me distressed. I wanted to comfort him and protect him.”
“Don’t pretend with me, Bai Cen. You and the emperor is allowed, but me and Wei Feng should be condemned? There’s no difference between us.”
Bai Cen’s face turned ugly: “No difference? Lin Yuan, how are you worthy to say that? The day I got married to Wei Feng he left to the battlefield. I was alone during my estrus period every month. For five years, he never said a sentence of concern, only some surface-level words. If you were in my shoes, would you be able to stand this kind of husband?
Lin Yuan was not moved. He realized that the protagonist shou was just a spoiled 3S Omega, and had to be pampered all the time. Even if Wei Feng was on the battlefield, facing danger and death, Bai Cen needed him to spend time to coax and care about him as he lived comfortably at home.
Lin Yuan laughed speechlessly: “Even if I say I can do it, you wouldn’t believe me. But other Alpha soldiers have Omegas who can do it. If every Omega was like you, then would there be any Alpha who’d be willing to serve in the army?”
Bai Cen still didn’t believe he did anything wrong. Other Omega and Alpha pairs were different, they had already completed their lifetime marks. Omegas who had been marked didn’t have the option to find another Alpha. But Bai Cen didn’t have a lifetime mark, he was still free to follow his heart and make a different choice.
“Lin Yuan, my relationship with Wei Feng is unique. We’re different from usual husband and wives, and can’t be compared.” Bai Cen looked at Lin Yuan, and said meaningfully: “I’ll have you know, I’ve brought up divorce multiple times, but Wei Feng refused every time. If he really liked you, then he would let you remain as a mistress.”
This kind of provocation was too lame for Lin Yuan to care. He tilted his head and smiled lightly: “Then following your words, if His Majesty the Emperor really liked you, he would use his authority to force the Marshal to divorce you, not letting you remain a cheater.”
Bai Cen was chosen again. This little Omega was really harder than iron. He was silent for a moment, and then said: “Do your parents know about your relationship with Wei Feng? Does Duke Lin know?”
Lin Yuan shot back: “Do your parents know about your relationship with His Majesty? Does Duke Bai know?”
Bai Cen’s suffocated appearance almost made Lin Yuan laugh out loud. Lin Yuan really believed that it was unnecessary for Bai Cen to come find him. He couldn’t wrap his head around how Bai Cen thought he had the qualifications to manage what Wei Feng did.
In the end, the two parties did not part happily. Lin Yuan liked the taste of the milk tea he just had, and ordered another cup.
When he got back to his room, he was originally going to call Wei Feng to talk about his meeting with Bai Cen, but he saw that the time was when Wei Feng was usually busy.
Instead, he changed into his sportswear, and started his usual exercise routine. After a little bit, he felt that his head was faintly throbbing, and the back of his neck was inexplicably hot, as if he was about to get his estrus.
Lin Yuan immediately got off the treadmill and took out an inhibitor, spraying it over his glands.
The heat dissipated a lot, but Lin Yuan’s head still hurt, and even his spiritual power felt more out of control.
Was his estrus period coming early? Lin Yuan was slightly puzzled, wondering if it was because he and Wei Feng met up a lot recently and he was influenced by the Alpha’s pheromones.
However, a few days later, Lin Yuan went to the hospital for a check up, and no problems were found.
In the next period of time, Lin Yuan and Wei Feng met secretly again and again. Each time was very exciting, probably thanks to the adrenaline bought by their secrecy. But Wei Feng’s blackening value fell very slowly, likely due to the problems with his spiritual power.

Lin Yuan left his room in the morning to go to his flower arrangement class, which he enjoyed quite a bit.
He passed by a fellow classmate and greeted with a smile as usual: “Good morning.”
The Omega looked at him with eyes full of disdain, and then turned his head and walked away without a word.
Lin Yuan was dumbstruck: ???
As he walked through the dormitory, he saw several unfamiliar Omegas, who all looked at him similarly with disdain.
Lin Yuan: ….? What’s going on? Can someone say something?
Lin Yuan left the dorm with a confused heart and walked towards the classroom. On his way, he noticed that several Alpha’s were looking him up and down, and one group even walked up to him.
One of the Alpha’s said suggestively: “Lin Yuan? Are you going somewhere? Why not come play with us?”
Lin Yuan expressionlessly walked around these Alphas, but he didn’t take more than five steps when he heard even more vulgar words from behind.
“Look at that waist and butt, thin and perky, the kind of effect you only get after playing with Alphas. An Omega without an Alpha won’t look like him.”
“Some Omega pretend to be pure, but have been used by Alphas so many times it’s dirty to think about.”
Lin Yuan thought about his recent gains from exercising, adding on his sword skills, and estimated that beating up this group of Alphas would be an easy effort.
He asked 521 to give him a wooden sword, and then turned back to face those Alpha’s, crooking his finger.
The Alpha’s thought that Lin Yuan was agreeing with them, and looked down on him in their hearts.
Two minutes later, under the shocked gaze of a group of spectators, Lin Yuan stepped on an Alpha’s head and said lowly: “Thin waist and perky butt, the kind of effect after playing with Omegas.”
Lin Yuan sneered: “Hey Alpha, why are you pretending, haven’t you been used by Omegas many times?”
