* IN REGARDS TO DEAN: in main verses (being set primarily within the supernatural “canon” world), kip doesn’t know that dean is his son until much later in both of their lives, when dean ultimately comes to find him and he is a grown adult. mary kept the parentage of dean a secret for a lot of her life due to the nature of when he was conceived (while she was married to john) and the nature of the relationship with kip (she loved being with kip but loved, somehow, john more). nothing is revealed until dean finds the letter mary addressed to him before her death after john dies in S2, in it she names his father and tells him everything he would need to know. in verses outside or even half way to do with the supernatural world, john finds the letter that mary wrote to dean and decides to find where kip lives and drop dean off at his doorstep in the middle of the night, passing off the responsibilities and then never seeing either of them again (this one is specific for more “normal” verses).
BIOGRPAHY :
kip joseph wesley was born on a hot july day in 1954. but six months before he was born, his father, joseph wesley, was killed responding to a hostage situation after a robbery went wrong, leaving his mother to raise him alone. and it was tough for a single mother in the 60s, especially one who worked extra shifts at a hospital just to make ends meet some months. most nights kip would spend at his grandparents’ house until his mother came home, and other times he was placed in the hands of a babysitter. at least until he was old enough to start going to school, and then at least it was slightly easier, especially because kip didn’t take any special interest in after-school activities like sports. instead, he would come home and enjoy the quiet with a good book.
many years later, kip graduates high school with high honors. he is at the top of his class. and before school ends, he decides that he wants to become a doctor. he wants to help people just like his mother does, like his father did. sarah always told him stories about his father as he grew up, some sense of keeping him alive to a child's mind. often she told him about how gracious and kind joseph wesley was, how he always helped those in need, how he was a hero. kip wanted to be just like him in his own way.
kip is eighteen (18) years old when he first enrolls into medical school, establishes himself in the first semester of classes and becomes a favored student amongst his teachers. he studied well, aced all of his tests, and knew the answers to questions and was happy to volunteer to speak on them. he was a good kid, well-mannered, well adjusted, and an academical genius. and twenty (20, going into 21), he meets mary campbell. she was, in every way, his kryptonite. he still kept a level head about his school work, did so well to balance his personal and school life, but then things change rapidly one night. kip and mary fall into bed together, have the night of their lives, and kip was so completely in love with mary. it took him only a couple months to think that maybe, just maybe, he’d been lucky enough to have found the one.
it wasn’t meant to be … this time, by the next morning, mary was gone. there was no note, no phone call. nothing. one day she was there, and the next… she’d vanished. unknowingly taking with her their son and his chance to be a father.
mary leaving without so much as a goodbye devastated him.
he aces every test for the next eight years and, again, graduates with high honors and earns his white coat. and, in that time, he finds his match at at the local hospital.
he studies all that he can the first few years of his residency, going from traumas to general surgery to cardiac to orthopedic. but where he really shined was when he finally got to study pediatrics, helping sick and injured children. kip wesley had such a way with children, he always seemed to know how to calm them down,
