BIOGRAPHY :
1913. JUNE 7TH, 1913. bo alan greene is born to wealthy parents jack and edith greene. he was born at 8:23pm in his childhood home and was their only child.
despite growing up in a wealthy family, bo was not necessarily fed with a silver spoon. he grew up with his necessities, loving parents, but was taught throughout his life that if he wanted something from the world, he had to work for it. his parents would be there as support and to offer some help, but bo grew up with the principle "what you give is what you get," if he works hard then he will be repaid well in turn.
several times throughout his childhood, bo would often accompany his father (most specifically during school breaks) to his fathers various offices and met many of his fathers' colleagues, he often watched his father work and somewhere along the line, fell in love with process of what his father did for a living. helping people, designing policies that would further benefit the thousands of families that looked up to his father, same as him. sometime around the time he was eight years old, he told his father: "i want to be just like you." which grew to, in part, become truth.
bo greene grows up with the passion to help people, to be there for them when they need him most and help them find a better place, a balance. from a young age and through to adulthood, all he wants is for the people he loves most and those that surround him to be happy.
1923. at the age of ten, jack and edith would send bo to attend a highly regarded catholic boys school, st. andrews, in maryland. he would do most of his grade and high school years there, getting the best for his general education. bo excelled every year in his mathematics classes, as well as literature and history. he loved most of his subjects, but literature and mathematics were easily a favorite pick. bo was a simple boy, he loved numbers, poetry, and a good book.
during his later school years (8th-11th grade), he was also part of a highly awarded debate team, where he quickly learned he isn't a fan of spoken politics as much as he was just overseeing the work. he also became a co-founder of a chess club, and often met with a group of friends after classes to discuss the literary works they were studying.
bo loved being at school. he loved learning and he loved being able to be with his friends. that never changed, even after he got accepted into college in boston, massachusetts, hundreds of miles away from everyone he's ever known, all that he's come to love and know as his save haven. it wasn't exactly a trip around the world, but bo needed his time away. he wanted to discover who he was on his own, in a place where nobody knew him or, for that matter, who his family was. there was a long course of self-discovery between 15 and 18, but nothing like what he would get out of being on his own in college. he wanted so much more.
1931. though he's not totally on his own. not quite yet. after being accepted to boston university, his father made a few calls to offer bo the best chance he could at getting the best foot in the door as he studied for his degree in economics (where his love for math thrives) and minoring in political science (where his need for helping the people around him also thrives). he lands a good paying job in the governors office, doing mostly paperwork and answering messages, talking politics when its welcomed amongst the governors party. bo is welcomed if only because the governor had been good friends with his father and owed him a couple favors.
after a few months, between studying and his work in the office, bo becomes increasingly unhappy. he loved school, and he loved doing his part for a community but it was taking so much away from his goal he'd come to boston with: find out what he wanted. politics wasn't it. studying the crash and rise again of the nations economic train was hardly doing any valuable work in bringing self promised euphonies. bo understood that there was more to life than books and a desk, he just had to find it.
1932. come spring, bo takes a semester off from college in some attempts to figure out what he truly wanted. he resigned from his position with the governor, pulled out of all his his courses and took up odd jobs to pay for his apartment. and somehow, between one or two jobs, he found more happiness there than he did anywhere else. he found friends, people he could talk shit and be himself. the best version of bo greene he could be.
while the desire to return to school had mostly dissipated, much to the dismay of his father especially, bo was still doing everything he could to make sure that he paid for the consequences of his actions and never once relied on his parents. he kept up with his two jobs, made time for his friends and, occasionally, discussed academics with those friends he made in his classes. he never officially dropped out, hoping one day that he would go back when the moment was right.
that moment doesn't come. not for many years. instead, he drops out of college completely and finds comfort in living an ordinary life. two jobs to make ends meet, occasionally visiting his family for holidays and when they would invite him for company. his father may have been disappointed in his choices but ultimately, jack acknowledged, it was his life. he had to learn to live it his own way. his mother was much quicker to accept his choices. she may not have understood them, but she saw how much happier he was since leaving the political field behind him, finding his place in the world. and that was, truly, all they wanted for him.
as long as bo was happy, they were happy.
1933. late in the year?? meets leon marshall for the first time in a bar.
1934. finds out that leon is dying through medical bills sent to his address (leon moved in). does everything in his power to find doctors / someone willing to help him, taking him to treatments and some form of at home remedies for the aftermath(s).
1939. leon has continued to get worse. frederick vought has eventually approached him at some point, offered him is card. THEY BOTH GET INJECTED WITH COMPOUND V, MAY 11TH, 1939.
1940. mostly spent running tests, perfecting the serum given to leon. the first time they realize the extent of bo's headaches: how quickly he can deteriorate with an oncoming / ongoing "glimpse," as he calls it. how it can be days or hours before he completely comes apart.
also when they realize that hard drugs are the only thing that touch the headaches for bo.
1941. pearl harbor happens and the americans are dragged into the war. eventually, word gets to frederick vought and leon. leon enlists and, because bo can't bear the thought of seeing him go alone, much less the idea of saying goodbye after just getting the guarantee that he'll never have to within his lifetime, enlists with him. anywhere he goes, bo will inevitably follow.
however, upon telling his parents that he intends to go overseas and not finish school (for the second time), they are in shock and, frankly, a little disappointed. bo's father, a us senator out of maryland, has never liked the idea of supes in the military since the proposal hit his desk. but, upon hearing bo's reasoning, knowing both leon and his son, he opts to go against everything he'd said to bo before and support it.
eventually, with some help from the maker himself, frederick vought, leon and bo are both allowed to join the armed forces. they go through basic, leon is almost immediately promoted to captain and bo his second in command. they work well together and show the promise of excellence.
1941 - 1945. they're both sent overseas and take the front lines. bo beside leon, attempting to see the possible futures through most if not all of their missions. sometimes bo wouldn't see everything, many occasions there were things and signs that were either unseen or changed along the way. bo learns very quickly that nothing is written in stone. behavior, choices, the smallest step to the left or right, the twig that snaps, the wing that flutters in the opposite direction than it should, it changes the course of events tenfold.
1950. the cold war begins its peak.
1952. cold war at its peak. leon and bo go between missions, often in moscow.
1954.
1954 - 1960.
1960 - 1980.
1984. leon / bo get captured during an operation in nicaragua.
1984 - 2021. dependent.
2022. spending almost 40 years either in captive or looking for leon, leon (and bo) return to the world after being "accidentially" released by billy butcher and the boys team. the first thing they do is go home after escaping through the frozen tundra, a whole world having passed them by in the meantime. everything is both the same and different to them from when they last remembered it, especially home. the new york they knew is gone, something else has taken it's place.
but the world has also made some very brave and good changes. society has finally caught up to the idea that they could, finally, be themselves in public. they can be with each other, no longer keep their feelings for each other a secret. as if it ever truly was.
2023. dependent. after the events that had unfolded at vought tower, bo is either looking for leon (again or for the first time), knowing that someone somewhere knows something about him and knows exactly where they've taken him this time and that someone connected either to vought or the boys knows exactly where he is, thus he sticks as closely as he can to the boys, learning what he can about voughts intel through a different source.
2024 - CURRENT. eventually its revealed that calhoun has known the whereabouts of leon the whole time and tells / takes homelander to where they've been keeping him. through bo's source in vought tower, he also learns of the whereabouts and fully intends on "saving," leon from homelander before shit hits the fan.
