This Privacy Policy explains how RuntimeStudio (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the mobile application PDF Scanner & Editor (the “App”).
The App helps you scan, import, organize, edit, and export documents and PDFs. Your documents are processed and stored on your device unless you choose to share or export them using your device’s share features.
By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
We do not require you to create an account.
We do not collect, store on our servers, or sell:
The content of your scanned documents, PDFs, or photos
Passwords you set when protecting PDFs (processing is done on your device)
Your name, email, or phone number (unless you email us for support)
To provide the App’s features, data is processed locally on your phone or tablet. This may include:
Images from the camera (document scanning)
Images and PDFs you import from your photo library or file picker
PDFs opened via Open with / intent from other apps
Edited or exported files (merge, split, compress, protect, convert, annotations, etc.)
This content stays in the App’s private storage on your device unless you export or share it.
To run the App, we save small amounts of data on your device, for example:
Recent scans list (titles, file paths, timestamps, previews)
Folders (folder names, colors, and which documents belong in them)
Tool usage / recent files (e.g. recently used PDFs for tools)
Onboarding preference (whether you completed first-time onboarding)
This metadata is stored in the App’s local file system or device storage, not on our servers.
Some features run entirely on your device, including:
PDF creation, editing, merging, splitting, and encryption
Image manipulation and export
On-device text recognition (OCR) where supported by your device
No document content is sent to us for these features.
The App may request the following permissions only to provide features you use:
Camera: Scan documents with the device camera
Photos / media library: Import images; save exports to your gallery when you choose
Storage / files: Open, save, and manage PDFs and images on your device
Internet: Open links such as this Privacy Policy in your browser; general network access for App functionality that requires it
You can revoke permissions in your device Settings. Some features may not work without the relevant permission.
Information leaves your device only when you take an action, for example:
Share — you send a file to another app (email, messaging, cloud drive, etc.)
Save / export — you save to Downloads, Photos, or another location
Open in another app — you open a document in a third-party app
Those services are governed by their own privacy policies, not ours. We do not control how third parties handle your data.
If you contact us for support (e.g. by email), we receive whatever you choose to send, such as:
Your email address
Your message and any attachments you include
We use that information only to respond to you and improve support. We do not use it for marketing unless you opt in.
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
On your device: Documents and App data remain until you delete them in the App, clear App storage, or uninstall the App.
Device backups: Your operating system or cloud backup (e.g. Google Backup) may copy App data according to your device settings. See your device manufacturer’s privacy information.
Support emails: We retain support correspondence only as long as needed for support and legal compliance, then delete or anonymize it.
We design the App so document processing happens on your device. No security method is perfect; you are responsible for keeping your device secure (screen lock, OS updates) and for choosing trusted apps when you share files.
If you use the App from outside [your country], your information is processed on your device under your control. If you contact us, your message may be processed in [country where you operate].
European Economic Area (EEA) / UK: If applicable law gives you rights (access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection), contact us at apps.runtimestudio@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
California (CCPA/CPRA): We do not sell personal information. California residents may request information about categories of data we collect (limited to support communications) or deletion of data we hold about them by contacting us.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
