It also describes how information is processed when you use AI-powered features, including AI Translate, AI Summary, and AI OCR, which use Claude AI services provided by Anthropic.

2. Subject of Data Protection

Personal data refers to any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, as defined in Article 4(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Depending on how you use the App, the information processed may include technical information about your device, information you provide when contacting support, and document content you choose to submit to AI-powered features.

3. Collection and Use of Data

3.1 Automated Data Collection

When you access or use the App, certain technical information may be collected automatically to support the operation, security, and performance of the service. This information may include:

• Date and time of access

• Browser type and version, where applicable

• Operating system and device information

• URL of the previously visited website, where applicable

• IP address, which may be truncated by one octet where this processing method is supported

This information is used for technical, security, diagnostic, and service improvement purposes. We do not intentionally use this technical information to identify you personally unless necessary for security, legal compliance, or other purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

3.2 Support Requests

If you contact our support team, we collect and process the information you voluntarily provide, such as your email address and the details of your request, to respond to your inquiry and resolve technical issues.

You may use a pseudonym where appropriate, provided that doing so does not prevent us from addressing your request.

Support requests are retained for 120 days after completion, unless a longer retention period is required by law or is reasonably necessary to resolve an ongoing dispute or prevent abuse.

Processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where necessary to respond to a request related to the App, or on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for general inquiries and legitimate support purposes, as applicable.

3.3 AI-Powered Features

The App offers AI-powered features, including:

• AI Translate: Processes selected PDF text to generate a translation into the requested language.

• AI Summary: Processes selected PDF text to generate a summary of the document or its relevant sections.

• AI OCR: Processes document pages or images to recognize text contained in scanned or image-based documents and convert it into machine-readable text.

These features use Claude AI services provided by Anthropic, a third-party AI service provider.

Information Processed by AI Features

When you choose to use an AI feature, the App may process the following information, depending on the feature and your actions:

• Text extracted from a PDF or selected document content for translation or summarization.

• PDF pages, document images, or other relevant visual content submitted for OCR processing.

• The target language, task instructions, and other inputs necessary to complete your request.

• Technical information required to send the request to the AI service and return the result.

AI processing may involve transmitting relevant document content and your instructions to Anthropic through its Claude AI services. Please avoid submitting sensitive personal information or confidential content unless you have the right to do so and are comfortable with the processing described in this Privacy Policy.

Purpose of AI Processing

We use AI processing as needed to provide the features you request, including translating text, summarizing documents, recognizing text in scanned pages, and returning the generated results to you.

Document content submitted for AI processing is not intended to be used by us for advertising or unrelated profiling.

Third-Party AI Service Provider

Anthropic processes information submitted to Claude in accordance with its applicable terms, privacy documentation, and data-handling practices. The processing and retention of submitted information may depend on the service, account arrangement, and applicable settings.

We do not claim that all information submitted to Claude is immediately deleted or that it is never retained by the provider. Retention, deletion, and any use of submitted content by Anthropic are subject to the terms applicable to the service used by the App.

User Choice and Consent

AI features are optional. You decide whether to use AI Translate, AI Summary, or AI OCR and which document content to submit for processing.

Before document content is transmitted to the third-party AI provider, the App will provide clear information about the relevant processing and obtain consent where required by applicable law. You may choose not to use these features if you do not agree to this processing.

You should only submit documents that you own or are legally authorized to process and share with the AI service provider.

AI Results and Limitations

AI-generated translations, summaries, and OCR results may contain errors or omissions. You are responsible for reviewing the results and verifying their accuracy before relying on them, particularly when documents contain legal, financial, medical, or other important information.

3.4 Legal Basis for Processing

Where the GDPR applies, we process personal data on the following legal bases, as applicable:

• Article 6(1)(a): Consent, where consent is required for a particular processing activity.

• Article 6(1)(b): Processing necessary to provide a feature you request or perform a contract with you.

• Article 6(1)(c): Compliance with legal obligations.

• Article 6(1)(f): Legitimate interests, such as maintaining security, troubleshooting issues, and improving the App, where those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.

Where special-category personal data is involved, additional legal requirements may apply. You should avoid submitting such information to AI features unless the processing is lawful and appropriate.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The App and its integrated services may use cookies, software development kits (SDKs), or similar technologies to support functionality, analyze usage, measure advertising performance, and improve service quality.

Depending on the services enabled in the App, these technologies may include:

• Firebase services

• Meta SDK

• Google Ads

• Google Analytics

The information collected may include device identifiers, usage events, diagnostic information, and advertising-related information, depending on the provider and configuration.

Not all SDKs use browser cookies within a native mobile app. The actual data collected depends on the technology and settings implemented.

Where required by law, we will request consent before using non-essential cookies or similar tracking technologies. You may be able to manage certain permissions or advertising preferences through your device settings or available in-app controls.

5. Data Sharing and Transfers

5.1 Third-Party Service Providers

We may share relevant information with service providers that help us operate, maintain, secure, analyze, or improve the App. These providers may include:

• Anthropic: AI processing for AI Translate, AI Summary, and AI OCR.

• Google Firebase: App infrastructure, diagnostics, analytics, or other enabled services.

• Google Ads: Advertising delivery and measurement, where enabled.

• Google Analytics: Usage analytics and performance measurement, where enabled.

• Meta: Advertising measurement or related services, where enabled.

Each provider receives information only as relevant to the services it provides, subject to the applicable configuration and contractual arrangements.

Where required, we use appropriate data-processing agreements and safeguards for third-party processing. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on an applicable transfer mechanism and safeguards required by law.

5.2 Law Enforcement and Legal Obligations

We may disclose information to competent authorities or other parties where reasonably necessary to:

• Comply with applicable laws, regulations, or valid legal requests.

• Investigate suspected fraud, unlawful activity, or misuse of the App.

• Protect the rights, safety, property, and security of users, our service, or others.

Any disclosure will be limited to what is legally permitted and reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law.

Our stated retention periods include:

• Support requests: 120 days after completion.

• Google Analytics data: 14 months, subject to the applicable analytics configuration.

For AI features, document content and related inputs are processed as needed to fulfill your request. The App's handling of locally stored documents, temporary files, cached content, and AI results depends on the App's implementation and settings.

Information transmitted to Anthropic may be retained or deleted according to the terms and retention policies applicable to the Claude service used. We cannot promise immediate deletion from Anthropic's systems unless the relevant service and configuration support it.

Where applicable and technically supported, you may delete documents or AI results stored locally through the App or your device. For questions or requests concerning personal data handled by us, contact us using the email address in Section 1.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you should consider this limitation before submitting sensitive documents to online AI services.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child in circumstances where parental consent or deletion is required, we will take appropriate steps in accordance with applicable law.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, to restrict or object to certain processing, or to request data portability.

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

Please note that withdrawing consent to processing by the App does not automatically delete information already transmitted to an independent third-party provider. Requests concerning data held by Anthropic or other providers may also need to be submitted to those providers in accordance with their applicable policies.

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App, our service providers, data-processing practices, or applicable legal requirements.

When changes are made, we will update the “Last Updated” date above. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to understand how your information is handled.
