PDF Reader ("the App") is developed to help users open, read, search, bookmark, and summarize PDF documents. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information.
By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
The App does not require users to create an account.
The App may access:
PDF files that you choose to open
Storage or file access permission (only for opening and managing PDF files)
Reading progress
Bookmarks
App settings
The App does not collect:
Contacts
Photos (unless you explicitly select a PDF from storage)
Location
Camera
Microphone
SMS
Call logs
The App offers an optional AI-powered PDF Summary feature.
When you choose Generate Summary:
Text is extracted locally from the selected PDF on your device.
The extracted text is securely transmitted to our backend server solely to process your request.
Our backend immediately forwards the text to Groq AI (Llama 3.1) to generate a summary.
We do not store, retain, log, or use the extracted PDF text after the request has been processed.
The generated summary is returned to your device.
The AI Summary feature is completely optional and is only used when you explicitly request it.
Your PDF content is not used by us to train AI models.
The information is used only to:
Open PDF documents
Search text inside PDFs
Save bookmarks
Restore reading progress
Generate AI summaries when requested
Improve app stability
Bookmarks, reading history, and app settings are stored locally on your device.
Your PDF files remain on your device unless you choose to use the AI Summary feature.
During AI summary generation, the extracted text is temporarily transmitted through our backend to Groq AI solely to generate the requested summary.
Our servers do not permanently store or retain your PDF files or extracted text.
The App uses the following third-party services:
Groq AI for generating document summaries.
Our backend server for securely forwarding AI requests.

We use reasonable technical measures to protect transmitted information.
Although no method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure, we strive to protect your data using secure communication.
The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
You may:
Stop using the AI Summary feature at any time.
Delete bookmarks and reading history from within the App.
Remove the App from your device.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
Any updates will be reflected on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
