1. INTRODUCTION

Welcome to PDF Lite ("App", "we", "our", or "us"). We are committed to

protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we

collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information when you use

our Android mobile application.

By downloading, installing, or using PDF Lite, you agree to the

collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you

do not agree with this policy, do not use the App.

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of PDF Lite worldwide,

including users in the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA),

United Kingdom (UK), United States (US), Canada, Australia, and India.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

2.1 INFORMATION WE DO NOT COLLECT

We do NOT collect, store, or transmit:

- Your name, email address, or any personal identifiers

- Your location or GPS data

- Your contacts or address book

- Your photos, images, or media (unless you explicitly import them into the

App to create a PDF, in which case they remain entirely on your device)

- Your audio or voice data

- Your browsing history or web activity

- Your health or fitness data

- Any financial information beyond what Google Play processes for purchases

- Device identifiers (IMEI, advertising ID, etc.)

- Crash reports or analytics (the App contains no analytics SDK)

- Any content of the PDF documents you create, scan, or edit

2.2 INFORMATION THAT MAY BE COLLECTED BY GOOGLE

The App uses Google Play Billing to process in-app purchases. When you make a

purchase, Google Play processes the transaction on our behalf. The following

information is handled by Google:

- Purchase history: whether you have purchased the Pro lifetime upgrade

(Product ID: pdf_expert_lite_pro_lifetime). We receive only a purchase

token from Google to verify your purchase status. We do not receive your

payment details, card numbers, or billing address.

2.3 LOCAL DATA STORED ON YOUR DEVICE

All the following data is stored exclusively on your device and is never

transmitted to us or any third party:

- PDF documents you import, scan, or create

- Signatures you draw or type

- Folder names and document organisation

- App settings and preferences (App Lock mode, notification preferences,

sort preferences)

- Your Pro purchase status (verified locally via Google Play)

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

The only data we access (the Google Play purchase token) is used solely to:

a) Verify whether you have purchased the Pro lifetime upgrade

b) Unlock unlimited features for Pro users

c) Restore your purchase if you reinstall the App or switch devices

We do not use any data for advertising, marketing, profiling, or analytics.

4. PERMISSIONS USED AND WHY

The App requests the following Android permissions:

CAMERA

Purpose: To scan paper documents using the camera and convert them to PDF.

When requested: Only when you tap "Start Scanning."

Data handling: Camera images are processed entirely on-device. No image

data is transmitted to us or any server.

READ_MEDIA_IMAGES (Android 13+) / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 12 and below)

Purpose: To import photos from your gallery and convert them to PDF.

When requested: Only when you choose to import from gallery.

Data handling: Imported images remain on your device only.

USE_BIOMETRIC / USE_FINGERPRINT

Purpose: To enable the optional App Lock feature using fingerprint,

face recognition, or device PIN.

Data handling: Biometric data is handled entirely by the Android system.

We never access or store biometric data.

POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+)

Purpose: To send a daily reminder notification when your free daily

action resets (8:00 AM).

When requested: Only when you enable notifications in Settings.

Data handling: Notifications are scheduled locally. No data is sent

to any server.

RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED

Purpose: To reschedule the daily reminder notification after the device

restarts.

Data handling: No personal data is accessed.

SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM

Purpose: To schedule the daily notification at a precise time (8:00 AM).

Data handling: No personal data is accessed.

FOREGROUND_SERVICE

Purpose: To allow background PDF processing tasks (OCR, compression) to

complete when the App is backgrounded.

Data handling: All processing is on-device. No data is transmitted.

INTERNET

Purpose: Exclusively to communicate with Google Play Billing to verify

and process in-app purchases. No other network requests are made.

5. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

5.1 All user data (documents, signatures, preferences) is stored in the app's

private internal storage on your device. This storage is not accessible to

other apps and is protected by the Android security model.

5.2 Your documents are stored at:

/data/data/com.app.team.pdf.expert.lite.andorid.app/files/Documents/

5.3 When you uninstall the App, all locally stored data is permanently deleted

by the Android operating system.

5.4 We do not operate any servers, databases, or cloud storage that contains

your data. We have no backend infrastructure.

5.5 Password-protected PDFs are encrypted using AES-128 encryption, a widely

accepted standard, before saving.

6. DATA SHARING AND THIRD PARTIES

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal data with any third party

for any purpose.

The only third-party service the App communicates with is Google Play Billing

(operated by Google LLC), and only for the purpose of processing and verifying

in-app purchases. This is governed by Google's own privacy policy.

We do not use:

- Advertising networks or ad SDKs

- Analytics platforms (Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)

- Crash reporting services (Crashlytics, Sentry, etc.)

- Social media SDKs

- Any other third-party SDK besides Google Play Billing and

Google ML Kit (which operates entirely on-device)

7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

PDF Lite is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the

applicable age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect

personal information from children. The App is rated "Everyone" on Google Play

and is suitable for general audiences, but it is a productivity tool designed

for general use, not specifically for children.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal

information through this App, please contact us at appteam301@gmail.com and

we will take steps to address the matter promptly.

8. YOUR RIGHTS

Depending on your country of residence, you may have the following rights:

8.1 RIGHT TO ACCESS

You have the right to know what personal data we hold about you. Since we hold

no personal data on any server, there is nothing for us to provide beyond

confirming this fact.

8.2 RIGHT TO DELETION

Since all your data is stored locally on your device, you can delete all your

data at any time by:

a) Deleting documents within the App

b) Clearing the App's data in Android Settings → Apps → PDF Lite →

Clear Data

c) Uninstalling the App (all local data is permanently deleted)

8.3 GDPR RIGHTS (EU/EEA Users)

If you are located in the EU or EEA, under the General Data Protection

Regulation (GDPR) you have rights including access, rectification, erasure,

restriction of processing, and data portability. Because we do not collect

or process personal data on any server, these rights are exercised directly

on your device as described in Section 8.2.

The legal basis for processing the Google Play purchase token is:

- Performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR): necessary to verify

and deliver the Pro features you have purchased.

8.4 UK GDPR AND UK DATA PROTECTION ACT 2018

Users in the United Kingdom have equivalent rights under UK GDPR and the UK

Data Protection Act 2018. See Section 8.3 for how to exercise these rights.

8.5 CALIFORNIA USERS (CCPA / CPRA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy

Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have the right to:

- Know what personal information is collected (see Section 2)

- Know whether personal information is sold or disclosed (it is not)

- Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell data)

- Request deletion of personal information (see Section 8.2)

- Non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights

We do not sell personal information. We do not have actual knowledge that we

sell or share personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

8.6 CANADA (PIPEDA)

Users in Canada have rights under the Personal Information Protection and

Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) to access and correct their personal

8.7 AUSTRALIA (PRIVACY ACT 1988)

Australian users have rights under the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian

Privacy Principles (APPs). Contact appteam301@gmail.com for any queries.

8.8 INDIA (DPDP ACT 2023)

Users in India have rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023.

9. DATA RETENTION

Since we do not collect personal data on any server, there is no data retention

period to specify. All data is stored on your device for as long as you keep the

App installed. You may delete individual files or all data at any time.

Google Play retains your purchase records in accordance with its own policies.

10. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

We do not transfer your personal data internationally because we do not store

personal data on any server. Your documents remain on your device at all times.

When Google Play processes a purchase, data transfer between you and Google is

governed by Google's own privacy policy and their compliance with applicable

international data transfer mechanisms (including Standard Contractual Clauses

for EU/EEA users).

11. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the

App, applicable laws, or our practices. We will notify you of significant

changes by:

- Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy

- Showing an in-app notice on the next launch after a material change

Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of

the updated policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using PDF Lite (the "App"),

you ("User", "you", or "your") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions

("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not download or use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and App Team

("we", "us", or "our"), the developer of PDF Lite.

2. DESCRIPTION OF THE APP

PDF Lite is a mobile productivity application for Android devices that

provides the following features:

- Document scanning using the device camera

- PDF viewing, annotation, and editing

- PDF form filling

- Digital signature creation and placement

- PDF merging, splitting, and page management

- PDF compression

- OCR (Optical Character Recognition) text recognition

- PDF password protection

- Document organisation with folders and search

- App Lock with biometric authentication

- Daily action quota for free users with unlimited access for Pro users

3. LICENCE GRANT

3.1 Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited,

non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, personal licence to install and use

the App on Android devices that you own or control, solely for your personal

or internal business purposes.

3.2 You may not:

a) Copy, modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works of the App

b) Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the

source code of the App

c) Rent, lease, loan, sell, sublicense, or transfer the App to any third

party

d) Remove or alter any proprietary notices, labels, or marks on the App

e) Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable

laws or regulations

f) Use the App to process documents you do not have the right to access,

edit, or reproduce

4. FREE TIER AND PRO UPGRADE

4.1 FREE TIER

The App is available free of charge with a limit of one (1) free feature action

per calendar day (reset at midnight local time). Free users may scan, sign,

annotate, or perform other PDF operations once per day.

4.2 PRO LIFETIME UPGRADE

Users may purchase the "PDF Lite Pro — Lifetime" upgrade

(Google Play Product ID: pdf_expert_lite_pro_lifetime) which removes the daily

action limit and provides unlimited use of all features.

4.3 PURCHASE TERMS

a) The Pro upgrade is a one-time, non-recurring purchase. There is no

subscription, no auto-renewal, and no recurring billing.

b) The purchase is processed by Google Play and is subject to Google Play's

c) Once purchased, the Pro upgrade is tied to your Google Play account

and can be restored on any device signed in to the same account by using

the "Restore Purchase" button in Settings.

d) Prices are set in Google Play Console and may vary by country and currency.

e) All purchases are final. Refunds are subject to Google Play's refund

policy at: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637

4.4 FAILURE TO PURCHASE

If a purchase is interrupted, pending, or disputed, Pro features will not be

activated until the purchase is confirmed by Google Play.

5. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

5.1 The App, including its code, design, graphics, icons, interface, and all

content created by us, is the exclusive intellectual property of App Team and

is protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable intellectual

property laws.

5.2 Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our name, logo,

trademarks, or service marks.

5.3 Your Documents: You retain all ownership and intellectual property rights

in any documents, files, signatures, and content you create, import, or process

using the App. We claim no ownership over your documents.

5.4 Third-Party Libraries: The App uses open-source and third-party libraries.

Their respective licences apply to those components. Notably:

- iText7 Community is used under the GNU Affero General Public License v3

(AGPL-3.0)

- Google ML Kit is used under Google's standard developer terms

- AndroidX and Material Components are used under the Apache License 2.0

- Signature Pad (gcacace) is used under the Apache License 2.0

- Google Play Billing Library is used under Google's standard terms

6. USER RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCEPTABLE USE

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not

infringe the rights of others. You must not use the App to:

a) Scan, copy, edit, or redistribute any document, image, or content that

is protected by copyright without the permission of the rights holder

b) Create, store, transmit, or distribute any illegal, harmful, defamatory,

fraudulent, or abusive content

c) Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system or data

d) Use the redaction feature to conceal evidence in legal proceedings

improperly

e) Produce falsified documents, forged signatures, or fraudulent materials

f) Violate any applicable law or regulation in your country or jurisdiction

You are solely responsible for the content of documents you process using the

App. We have no ability to access your documents and accept no liability for

their content.

7. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

7.1 THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT

WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO

WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY,

RELIABILITY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

7.2 We do not warrant that:

a) The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other

harmful components

b) The results obtained from using the App will be accurate or reliable

c) OCR text recognition will be 100% accurate

d) PDF compression will always produce smaller file sizes

e) Password protection cannot be circumvented by specialised software

f) The App will be compatible with all Android devices or future Android

operating system versions

7.3 Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties.

In such jurisdictions, the above exclusions apply to the maximum extent

permitted by applicable law.

8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

8.1 TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE

FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY

DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF

BUSINESS, LOSS OF GOODWILL, OR ANY OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR

IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP.

8.2 OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR

RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR

THE PRO UPGRADE, OR INR 500 (FIVE HUNDRED INDIAN RUPEES) IF YOU HAVE NOT

MADE ANY PURCHASE, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

8.3 IMPORTANT — DATA LOSS: The App processes and stores documents locally on

your device. We strongly recommend you maintain independent backups of all

important documents. We are not liable for any loss of data arising from device

failure, accidental deletion, App malfunction, or any other cause.

8.4 Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation or exclusion of liability

for certain types of damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited

to the maximum extent permitted by law.

9. INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless App Team and its affiliates,

officers, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses,

and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way

connected with:

a) Your access to or use of the App

b) Your violation of these Terms

c) Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property

rights or privacy rights

d) Any content in documents you process using the App

10. TERMINATION

10.1 These Terms are effective until terminated.

10.2 Your rights under these Terms will terminate automatically and without

notice if you fail to comply with any of its provisions.

10.3 We reserve the right to discontinue the App or modify its features at any

time, with or without notice. We are not obligated to continue providing the App

or any particular feature indefinitely.

10.4 Upon termination, the licence granted to you in Section 3 will terminate

and you must cease all use of the App. Uninstalling the App automatically

deletes all locally stored data.

10.5 The following sections survive termination: 5 (Intellectual Property),

7 (Disclaimer of Warranties), 8 (Limitation of Liability), 9 (Indemnification),

and 13 (Governing Law and Dispute Resolution).

11. UPDATES AND CHANGES TO THE APP

11.1 We may release updates to the App from time to time via Google Play.

Updates may add, modify, or remove features. Some updates may be required for

continued use.

11.2 We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes

will be communicated through an in-app notice or via the App's Play Store

listing. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of any changes

constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. PRIVACY

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is

incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the App, you consent to

the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

13. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION

13.1 These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the

laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

13.2 Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these

Terms or the App shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith

13.3 If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within 30 days,

it shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent civil courts

in Surat, Gujarat, India.

13.4 USERS IN THE EUROPEAN UNION: Nothing in these Terms affects your

statutory rights as a consumer under EU law. EU consumers may also access the

European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at:

13.5 USERS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM: Nothing in these Terms affects your rights

under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable UK consumer legislation.

13.6 USERS IN THE UNITED STATES: To the extent any provision of these Terms

is inconsistent with applicable federal or state consumer protection law, that

provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to comply.

13.7 USERS IN AUSTRALIA: Nothing in these Terms excludes rights you have

under the Australian Consumer Law, including guarantees that cannot be excluded.

14. SEVERABILITY

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid under

applicable law, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary

to make it enforceable, or severed from these Terms if modification is not

possible. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

15. ENTIRE AGREEMENT

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement

between you and App Team regarding your use of PDF Lite and supersede

all prior agreements, representations, and understandings between you and us

relating to the App.

17. Storage and File Permissions (Important Notice)

To function fully as an all-in-one PDF utility, the Application requires access to your device's local storage. Depending on your Android OS version, the app requests the following permissions:

All Files Access Permission (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): For devices running Android 11 (API level 30) and higher, this core permission is strictly required to allow you to locate, open, read, organize, merge, split, compress, protect, and save PDF files across your entire device storage outside of the app's isolated sandbox. Without this permission, the app cannot perform essential operations like searching your device for existing PDFs to edit or saving newly created documents to your public folders.
Storage Read/Write Permissions (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE / WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): For devices running Android 10 and lower, these permissions are utilized to import, view, and modify PDF files and to save converted scanned documents back to your local storage library.

On-Device Processing & Privacy Guarantee: All operations involving your documents—including file scanning, signature placement, form filling, PDF merging/splitting, compression, and OCR text recognition—are performed completely on-device. We do not collect, upload, transmit, share, or store any of your personal files, documents, text, or biometric data on external servers. Your files remain entirely private and under your sole control at all times.
