PDF Camera is a document scanner that works on your device. We have no accounts, no advertising, and no user tracking. Your scans stay on your phone unless you choose to share them.
Information we collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, or location. PDF Camera has no sign-in, and we have no server that stores your documents.
Camera
The camera is used only to let you scan documents. Captured images are processed on your device to rotate and save the page. They are never uploaded to any server.
Photos and files
When you import a photo or open a PDF, it is read only so the app can display and edit it. Documents you create are saved to your device's storage, including the "Documents/PDF Camera" folder, so you can find them later. Nothing is sent off the device.
Text recognition (OCR)
Text recognition runs entirely on your device using on-device libraries. The recognised text is not transmitted anywhere.
Sharing
When you tap Share, your document is handed to the app you choose — for example an email or messaging app — through the system share sheet. What happens to the document after that is governed by that app's own privacy policy.
Crash reporting
If the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, we send a diagnostic report to our error-monitoring provider (Sentry) so we can fix the problem. These reports contain technical information only: the error and where it occurred in the code, your device model, operating system version, and the app version. They also include basic app-session events (when the app started and stopped) so we can tell how often a crash affects users.
Crash reports never include your documents, your scans, the text recognised from them, your file names, or any information that identifies you personally.
Advertising
PDF Camera contains no advertising and no advertising identifiers. We do not share any information with advertisers or data brokers.
Children
PDF Camera is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Data deletion
Your documents are stored only on your device. Deleting a document in the app, or uninstalling the app, removes that data. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will appear here and in the app, with a new "last updated" date.
