Welcome to PDFMaster ("the App", "we", "us", or "our"). We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our Android application.
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.
The App stores the following data locally on your device only to provide its core functionality:
Document metadata: File names, file URIs, last opened dates, favorite status, current reading page, and total page counts for PDF files you have opened.
Annotations: Highlights, underlines, and freehand drawings you create on PDF pages, including coordinates, colors, page numbers, and timestamps.
App preferences: Your display settings and reading preferences.
This data is stored in a local database (Room) on your device and is never transmitted to any server or third party.
We do not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:
Personal identifiers (name, email address, phone number, etc.)
PDF file contents — we only read files you explicitly choose to open
Location data
Contacts, photos, messages, or other personal data
Usage analytics or behavioral data
Device identifiers or advertising IDs
The App displays advertisements through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect certain information to serve ads, including:
Advertising identifiers (Advertising ID)
IP address
Device model and operating system version
App usage statistics
Ad interaction data
This data is collected by Google, not by us. For details, see Google's Privacy Policy.
Locally stored data is used exclusively to:
Open and render PDF files you select
Save and restore your reading progress (last page read)
Store and display your annotations (highlights, underlines, drawings)
Maintain your recent files list and favorites
Enable file name search within the App
Advertisements are displayed through Google AdMob to support ongoing development and maintenance of the App. No ads are shown inside the PDF reading view.
The App requests the following device permissions:
Storage Access (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE)
Purpose: Read PDF files you choose to open
We use Android's Storage Access Framework (SAF), meaning you explicitly select which files the App can access
We do not scan or access files beyond those you actively choose
Internet Access (INTERNET)
Purpose: Load and display advertisements via Google AdMob
Not used to upload your personal data, files, or annotations
The App integrates Google AdMob for advertising. AdMob may collect and process data according to Google's own privacy policy.
AdMob Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Managing Ad Personalization: You can opt out of personalized ads through your device settings:
Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization
Beyond Google AdMob, the App does not integrate any other third-party analytics, crash reporting, social media, or cloud storage services.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share any user data with third parties. Since we do not collect personal data on our servers, there is nothing for us to share. Data collected by Google AdMob is governed by Google's own policies.
All App data is stored locally on your device and is protected by your device's own security mechanisms (screen lock, device encryption, etc.). Since the App does not transmit your personal data or files over the internet, your information is not exposed to network-based risks from our end.
However, no security measure is 100% foolproof. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device.
All App data (document metadata, annotations, preferences) is stored locally and remains on your device until you choose to delete it.
You can delete your data at any time by:
Deleting individual annotations within the App
Clearing the App's data: Settings > Apps > PDFMaster > Clear Data
Uninstalling the App — this permanently removes all locally stored App data
The App is not specifically directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since no personal data is collected from any user, the App is generally safe for users of all ages. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through a third-party service integrated in the App, please contact us.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:
Access: View all your data within the App at any time
Deletion: Delete your annotations, reading history, and preferences

Withdrawal: Uninstall the App at any time to remove all data
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

Not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights
If you are located in the EU or EEA, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation, including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, data portability, and objection. Since the App primarily operates locally and does not collect personal data on our servers, you can exercise these rights through the App's settings or by uninstalling the App.
Legal Basis for Processing:
Contract Performance: Providing the PDF reading functionality you request
Legitimate Interest: Maintaining and improving App functionality
Consent: Displaying personalized advertisements (you may withdraw consent at any time via device settings)
The App operates locally on your device. However, Google AdMob may transfer data to servers located outside your jurisdiction. Such transfers are governed by Google's own data protection practices and policies.
