Introduction
This Privacy Policy applies to the Smart PDF Reader app (herein referred to as the "App") for Android devices. This service is provided by QAkojak at no cost and is intended for use as is.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explicitly states that we do not collect, store, or share your personal data or your documents.
1. Information Collection and Use
1.1. Personal Information
We do not collect, transmit, or store any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, phone number, or location. No account creation is required to use the App.
1.2. Document and File Data
The core functionality of this App is to view and manipulate documents (PDF, Word, Excel, etc.).
Local Processing: All file operations—including viewing, merging, splitting, compressing, and text extraction—are performed entirely offline on your device using your device's processing power.
No Cloud Uploads: We do not upload your files to any external server. We do not have access to the content of your files.
1.3. Image Data (OCR)
The App uses Google ML Kit for Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to extract text from images. This processing happens locally on your device. No image data is sent to us or third-party servers for the purpose of data collection.
2. App Permissions
The App requests minimal permissions to function. Here is why we need them:
Storage / File Access: required to allow you to select, view, and save documents stored on your device. We use the Android Storage Access Framework to ensure we only access files you explicitly select.
Internet Access: The App does not use the internet to send user data. Internet access is only required by the Google ML Kit library to download the necessary OCR language models if they are not already present on your device.
3. Third-Party Services
While the App itself does not collect data, it utilizes third-party libraries provided by Google to function on the Android platform. These services may collect information used to identify your device for diagnostic purposes (e.g., if the app crashes).

4. Data Security
We value your trust. Since we do not collect your data, your files remain as secure as your device itself. We recommend using standard device security settings (such as PINs or biometrics) to prevent unauthorized physical access to your documents.
5. Children’s Privacy
These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
