PDF Helper, hereinafter referred to as “the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our,” is a utility application that provides functions such as viewing, scanning, creating, editing, converting, and managing PDF files.

2. Information We Process

PDF Helper does not require users to create or register an account.

To provide PDF-related features, the App may process the following information locally on your device:

- Images that you capture or scan using the camera;

- Images that you select from your device’s photo library;

- File names, file sizes, file types, and file paths;

- File creation dates, modification dates, and last viewed dates;

This information is primarily used to complete actions that you actively request and is stored locally on your device.

We do not actively upload your PDF files, images, or file contents to our servers.

2. File Processing

PDF Helper processes file viewing, scanning, creation, editing, merging, splitting, encryption, decryption, and conversion locally on your device.

Unless you actively use the system sharing feature to send files to another application, platform, or contact, we do not access, upload, share, or transmit the contents of your files.

You may delete relevant files at any time through the App’s deletion features or your device’s file management system.

Please note that uninstalling the App may also delete files stored in the App’s dedicated storage directory. We recommend backing up important files to a secure location before uninstalling the App.

3. Device Permissions

To provide certain features, PDF Helper may request the following device permissions depending on the functions you use:

3.1 File and Storage Permission

This permission is used to access PDF files or images that you actively select and to save files that you create, edit, or convert.

3.2 Camera Permission

When you use features such as document scanning or converting photos to PDF, the App needs access to your device’s camera.

We will only request camera permission when you actively use a feature that requires it.

3.3 Photo Library or Media Permission

When you use features such as converting images to PDF, importing images, or saving files, the App may need access to the images or media files that you select.

3.4 Notification Permission

This permission is used to display notifications about completed file processing, task status, or other necessary functional updates.

You may disable notification permission at any time through your device’s system settings.

You may refuse to grant any requested permission. However, some features that depend on the relevant permission may not function properly. Other features that do not require the permission will remain available.

4. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

We do not actively share your PDF files, images, or file contents with third parties, except in the following circumstances:

- We have obtained your explicit authorization or consent;

- You actively use the system sharing feature to send files to a third-party application or service;

- Disclosure is required by applicable laws, regulations, court orders, or lawful requests from government authorities;

- Disclosure is necessary to protect the legitimate rights and interests of users, the public, the App, or other relevant parties.

When you actively share files with a third-party application or service, the relevant information will be governed by that third party’s privacy policy. We recommend reviewing the applicable third-party privacy policy before using the service.

5. Third-Party Services

PDF Helper currently does not use third-party advertising services, third-party analytics services, or user behavior analysis services.

If third-party services are added in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly and explain the information that may be processed, the purpose of the processing, and the applicable privacy policy.

6. Information Storage and Security

Files and related information processed by the App are primarily stored locally on your device.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your files and related information from unauthorized access, use, modification, disclosure, or loss.

However, please understand that no method of electronic storage can guarantee absolute security. We recommend that you:

- Keep your device secure;

- Set a password, fingerprint lock, or facial recognition lock on your device;

- Avoid sharing important files with untrusted applications or contacts;

- Back up important files regularly;

- Keep passwords used to encrypt PDF files secure.

If you forget the password for an encrypted file, we may be unable to recover or unlock the file for you.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

The App does not store your PDF files or images on our servers.

Files stored locally on your device are managed by you. You may delete relevant information by:

- Deleting files within PDF Helper;

- Deleting files through your device’s file manager;

- Clearing the App’s cache or application data;

- Uninstalling the App.

Before uninstalling the App, please back up any important files that you wish to retain.

8. Children’s Privacy

PDF Helper is not primarily directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you are a minor, please use the App under the guidance of a parent or legal guardian.

If a parent or guardian discovers that a child has provided personal information to the App without appropriate consent, please contact us, and we will address the matter as appropriate.

Because files are primarily processed locally on your device, we generally do not transfer your files to other countries or regions.

When you use the system sharing feature or third-party applications, the relevant third party may process or transfer information internationally according to its own practices. Please review the applicable third-party privacy policy for more information.

11. Updates to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy in response to changes in the App’s features, applicable laws and regulations, or operational requirements.

The updated Privacy Policy will be published within the App or on the relevant app store page, and the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly.

If an update materially affects your rights, we will provide notice through an in-app notification or another appropriate method where reasonably possible.
