Privacy Policy – PDF Editor & Tools
Last updated: September 21, 2026
PDF Editor & Tools ("the App") is developed and maintained by Anurag Guleria ("Developer", "we", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your information when you use it on your Android device.
By downloading or using PDF Editor & Tools, you agree to the terms described in this policy.
Developer Contact: anuraggulerria@gmail.com App Package Name: pdf.editor.reader.pdftools
PDF Editor & Tools does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:
Your PDF files or their contents
Personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number
Account credentials — the app has no login or registration
Your location data
Your contacts or call history
Photos or videos beyond what you explicitly select for use in the app
Browsing history or web activity
All PDF operations performed in the app — including merging, splitting, compressing, signing, converting, scanning, and annotating — are performed entirely on your device. Your files are never uploaded to our servers or any third-party server.
The app stores the following data locally on your device only, using Android SharedPreferences and local file storage. This data never leaves your device.
Recent Files List — stores the paths of recently opened PDF files so they appear on the home screen.
Pinned Files — stores paths of files you have pinned to the home screen.
App Preferences — stores your selected theme (dark/light), default sort order, and other UI settings.
Trash Folder — deleted files are temporarily moved to an internal trash folder until you empty it or restore them.
Operation Count — a local counter of how many tool operations you have performed, used only to decide when to show the in-app review prompt.
MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
This permission is required on Android 11 and above for the app to scan all folders on your device and display all your PDF files, regardless of which app created them. Without this permission, PDF files created by Chrome, WhatsApp, Gmail, and other apps would be invisible to PDF Editor & Tools. This is the core functionality of the app as a PDF file manager. We only use this permission to read and list PDF files — we never modify, upload, or share files without your explicit action.
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
Required on Android 12 and below to read files from device storage.
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
Required on Android 9 and below to save output files to device storage.
READ_MEDIA_IMAGES
Required on Android 13 and above to access image files for the Images-to-PDF conversion and document scanner features.
CAMERA
Required for the document scanner feature (photograph physical documents and convert to PDF) and for the Sign PDF feature (take a photo of your handwritten signature).
INTERNET
Required to load and display advertisements through Google AdMob. No personal data or files are transmitted through this permission.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
Required by the Google AdMob SDK to check network availability before loading ads.
VIBRATE
Used for haptic feedback when interacting with the user interface.
The app displays advertisements powered by Google AdMob. Google AdMob may collect and use certain device information to serve advertisements, including:
A resettable advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID)
Device model, operating system version, and screen size
General location at the country or region level
App usage data and crash reports
This data collection is managed by Google and governed by Google's Privacy Policy, available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time by going to your Android device Settings, then Google, then Ads, and enabling "Opt out of Ads Personalization."
The Google Drive Backup feature is entirely optional. If you choose to use it:
You will be asked to sign in with your Google account. The app only requests the drive.file permission scope, which gives the app access only to files that the app itself creates in Google Drive. The app cannot read, modify, or delete any other files in your Google Drive.
Your PDF files from the "PDF Editor" folder on your device will be uploaded to a folder named "PDF Editor & Tools" in your Google Drive. No other files are accessed or uploaded.
You can disconnect Google Drive at any time from the Settings screen inside the app. When you disconnect, no data is deleted from your Drive — your backed-up files remain there unless you delete them manually.
Google's handling of your Google account data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
The app offers an optional one-time "Lifetime Pro" purchase. All payment processing is handled by Google Play Billing. We do not receive, process, or store your payment card details or any financial information. Your purchase history is managed by Google Play.
PDF Editor & Tools is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under 13.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child under 13 has used this app in a way that may have involved the collection of personal data, please contact us immediately at anuraggulerria@gmail.com. We will take prompt action to address the situation.
The app integrates the following third-party services. Each service is governed by its own privacy policy.
Google AdMob — used to display advertisements. Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Google Play Billing — used to process in-app purchases. Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Google Sign-In and Google Drive — used for the optional backup feature. Privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Syncfusion Flutter Libraries — used for PDF rendering and viewing. These libraries process files locally on your device only. Privacy policy: https://www.syncfusion.com/privacy
Because PDF Editor & Tools processes all files locally on your device and does not transmit your PDF files to any external server, the primary security risk to your files is the physical security of your device itself.
We recommend protecting your device with a screen lock and enabling device encryption (available in Android Settings) to keep your files secure.
You have full control over all data stored by the app.
To view your data — all data stored by the app exists on your device and can be found in the app's data directory or accessed through the app's Settings screen.
To delete your data — open the app, go to Settings, scroll to Danger Zone, and tap Reset All Data. This clears all preferences, recent files, and app history. Alternatively, uninstalling the app removes all locally stored app data.
To opt out of personalized ads — use your Android device's built-in advertising settings as described in Section 5 above.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app's features, applicable law, or our practices. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
If you have any questions, concerns, requests, or complaints regarding this Privacy Policy or the app's data practices, please contact us:
