Privacy Policy
Last Updated: May 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to PDF Converter (“App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We respect your privacy. This policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use our mobile application and related services, including versions distributed through the Apple App Store.
Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Where this policy applies
This policy applies to the App and our processing related to it. It does not govern third-party sites or services you may open from the App; those services have their own policies.
App Store listing
For convenience, a copy of this policy may appear in or next to our App Store listing. The version published at our official privacy policy URL (the same URL you provide in App Store Connect) controls if there is any inconsistency.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
Files and documents
- PDFs and other documents: When you upload or import files for conversion, OCR, or editing, we process them to perform the service. Files may be stored temporarily on our servers to complete processing.
- Images: When you capture, upload, or import images (for example via a scanner or photo picker), we process them for conversion and enhancement as you request.
Account and purchases
- Purchases and subscriptions: Purchase and subscription status are processed by Apple through In-App Purchase and the App Store. We receive information necessary to confirm entitlements (for example subscription state and transaction identifiers as made available by Apple).
- Preferences: Settings and preferences you set in the App.
2.2 Information collected automatically
Device and app
- Device type, operating system version, and device identifiers used for app operation, security, analytics, or advertising as described below.
- App version and build.
- Regional or language settings, storage-related signals needed for the service.
Usage
- Features used, session length and frequency, and actions such as conversions or uploads.
- Error, diagnostic, and crash data (for example via Firebase).
Network
- IP address.
- Connection type and status, and server/API logs needed to operate the service.
Location
- We do not collect precise GPS location. We may derive general geographic region from IP address (for example for service optimization or fraud prevention).
Permissions (camera, photos, files)
- We use the camera, photo library, and files only when you choose actions that require them (for example scanning or importing). We do not access these for unrelated purposes.
3. How we use your information
3.1 Providing the service
- Converting and processing documents (for example image to PDF; PDF to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, text; OCR; editing).
- Scanning, enhancement, upload, storage within the App, saving outputs, and sharing, printing, or exporting as you direct.
3.2 Premium features
- Managing subscriptions and premium access through Apple In-App Purchase.
- Delivering premium benefits (for example ad-free or expanded limits, as described in the App).
3.3 Improvement and reliability
- Understanding feature usage, fixing bugs and crashes, and improving performance and UX.
3.4 Communications
- Push notifications about updates, features, or important notices (where enabled on your device).
- Support responses.
- Marketing only if you opt in where we offer that choice.
3.5 Security and legal
- Enforcing our terms, preventing abuse and fraud, protecting users and the service, and complying with law and lawful requests.
4. Third parties and data sharing
We use service providers and platform partners. They may process data on our behalf under agreements and applicable law.
4.1 Firebase (Google)
Typical uses: Crashlytics, Remote Config, Firebase Cloud Messaging (push), and related diagnostics or configuration.
Data may include crash logs, performance metrics, device/app identifiers, and aggregated or pseudonymous usage.
4.2 Advertising (Google AdMob)
We may show ads through Google AdMob.
Data may include device and ad identifiers, coarse usage signals, and IP address, as permitted by your device settings and platform rules.
iOS / App Store: On Apple devices, Apple’s App Tracking Transparency controls whether the app may access certain identifiers (such as the IDFA) for cross-app tracking as defined by Apple. If you do not allow tracking, we still may show ads, but they may be less personalized.
4.3 Apple (App Store and In-App Purchase)
Apple processes payments, refunds, subscription management, and related fraud prevention according to Apple’s Privacy Policy and App Store terms. We do not receive your full payment card number from Apple.
4.4 Other service providers
We may use vendors for hosting, analytics, communications, or security. They are permitted to use data only to provide services to us.
4.5 Legal disclosures
We may disclose information if required by law or if we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the service, as permitted by law.
5. Data security and retention
Security
We use safeguards such as encryption in transit (for example HTTPS/TLS), access controls, monitoring, and updates. No method is 100% secure.
Retention (summary)
- Uploaded files for processing: Typically removed from servers after processing completes (often within 24–48 hours), subject to technical or legal exceptions.
- Documents you save in the App: Retained until you delete them or remove the App/data, unless we must retain copies for legal reasons.
- Crash/diagnostic logs: For a limited period (for example about 30 days) unless a longer period is needed for a specific incident.
- Analytics: Up to about 12 months in aggregated or pseudonymous form, unless a shorter period applies.
6. Your rights and choices
Access and portability
You may request a copy of personal data we hold where applicable law requires.
Controls
- Push notifications: Device or in-app settings.
- Analytics / diagnostics: If we offer an opt-out in settings, you may use it (this can limit our ability to diagnose issues).
Do Not Track
Where a “Do Not Track” signal exists, we treat it within the limits of our systems and partner technologies.
Regional rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under GDPR/UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, PIPEDA, or other laws (access, correction, deletion, objection/restriction, portability, complaint to a regulator, withdrawal of consent). Contact us to exercise rights; we may need to verify your request.
7. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country for consent without parental involvement). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in that group. If you believe we have, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
8. International transfers
We may process data in countries other than yours (including the United States). Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) or rely on exceptions permitted by law.
9. Third-party links
The App may link to third-party sites or services. Their practices are governed by their policies, not this one.
10. California “Shine the Light”
California residents may request certain information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. Contact us as below.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the new version and update the “Last updated” date. For material changes, we may provide additional notice (for example in the App or by email if we have it) or seek consent where required. Continued use after the effective date may constitute acceptance where allowed by law.
12. Contact us
Email: sajedurrahamanapp@gmail.com
We aim to respond to privacy requests within 30 days, or as required by applicable law.
13. Additional information
Local storage
We use on-device storage (for example to remember preferences). You can often clear app data in device settings.
Advertising
Ads may be personalized when allowed by platform settings and law; you can limit this using the controls in Section 4.2 and Section 6.
Social features
If the App includes social integrations, those platforms’ policies apply to data you share with them.
Testimonials
We only publish testimonials or reviews publicly with permission, and we avoid publishing private contact details without consent.
Acknowledgment
By using PDF Converter, you acknowledge that you have read this policy. If you disagree, stop using the App.
Language
This policy is provided in English. If a translation conflicts with the English version, the English version prevails unless local law requires otherwise.
App Store Connect checklist
1. Host this full text at a stable HTTPS URL (required for App Privacy details and your store listing link).
2. In App Store Connect → App Privacy, answer the questionnaire so it matches what the App actually collects (files, identifiers, diagnostics, advertising data, purchase history, etc.).
3. If you use AdMob in a way that triggers App Tracking Transparency, request permission per Apple’s guidelines and ensure privacy labels reflect tracking and data use accurately.
