Does anyone on here know of an alternative to PdaNet for linux or how to get PdaNet to work on Linux so I can tether my phone's internet? That would be really convenient when I'm away from home and their is no wifi. I really don't like using windows much either except for gaming so this would be really awesome if someone could help me out. Thanks!

When my red hotspot line reached 21 gigs my usb tethering and hotspot stopped working. I can still connect them but there is no internet. With the PdaNet app I can use the Wifi-direct hotspot to send internet. PdaNet makes programs for Windows and Android to receive the internet, but not for linux.

I've used an android smartphone for tethering over a usb line to the laptop with no limitations I was aware of, and wifi is also supposed to be supported out of the box by my device, with no need for extra apps to be installed. (What are the T-Mobile's "mobile hotspot" limitations?) Maybe try a net search on ' wifi tethering linux'?

There are a few good alternatives to pdanet for linux users. One is kpneat, which is a great program that allows you to connect your linux computer to your android phone. Another good alternative is android-vnc-viewer, which allows you to view and control your android phone from your linux computer.

Pdanet kali linux is a great way to get internet access on your kali linux machine. It is easy to install and use, and it is very reliable. I have found it to be a great way to get internet access on my kali linux machine.

pfsense works too, though i only use that as a fallback when they do deep packet inspection, and i need to mess with the headers, T-Mobile use to mark all desktop UA strings as hotspot (even data coming from the phone directly) back then i had to mangle parts of the user agent to bypass that tracking while still not making sites unhappy, was a pain in the ass honestly, glad tmobile went to a simple filter(we

l for the most part, they still can somehow tell linux machines apart from the rest, but its not a big deal to me)

I tried the ttl method in cmd prompt on my windows 10 but tmobile still tracks me. Only method working for me is connect cable and fire up pdanet on my rooted note 5. But I want to just wifi hotspot tether without cable and not get tracked. Some people on xda said with a vpn you can. Also was thinking about a user agent switcher. Any help?

I am not throttled on my linux machine and two ipads. However when I run my linux machine in Windows10, or a laptop on Windows 10, it throttles, even though if I ping the local ip address 192.168.1.77 for example, it shows TTL is 65. ff782bc1db
