Pdanet For Iphone Download

Now that you have Cydia updated, you're ready to use it to install PdaNet. Go head and tap the Search tab on the lower-right. In the search bar at the top, simply tap in "pdanet" (or just "pda") to autofilter the list of all apps down to the one we want: PdaNet. Then tap PdaNet in the list.

In general all is fine except that I have not been able to find a clear-cut method for tethering my iphone (it is the 1G version with Edge only, but works like charm with PDANet on Windows 7) via USB. I will appreciate if one could direct me to some solutions.

- setup an ad-hoc network from my macbook. Settings: name: Michael, channel Automatic (11), security WEP 40 5 character ASCII

- set the ip address of the macbook to using DHCP with manual address: ip 192.168.0.1, subnet 255.255.255.0

- turn wifi on, on my iphone enter WEP password

- set the iphones ip to static: ip 192.168.0.18 and subnet 255.255.255.0

- open PdaNet and wait for it to verify the internet connection. This is where is gets weird. the wifi icon in the top left corner turns to 3G and PdaNet tells me that I should connect my iphone to an ad-hoc network and restart PdaNet... when I go back to settings it says I am still connected. I successfully ping my iphone from my macbook so this confirms that it is connected.

okay well ill say it again, Ive tried using only DHCP and as u said it assigns itself an address of 169.x.x.x

now when I connect the iphone using DHCP it assigns itself a 169.x.x.x address but the last 2 x's are different. also cannot ping the iphone while it is like this. If you read my initial post u will see that by using manual IP's I was able to ping my iphone from my mac so obviously it is connected to the network fine. I think it is more of a problem that the iphone decides to switch networks when it checks if the cellular network is working (inside PdaNet). it then doesnt switch back to realising that it is connected to an adhoc network ff782bc1db
