My name is Pedro and I am a 3D artist focused on Surfacing, Lighting, and Rendering.
I had the chance to develop my 3D skills by working on different projects for over a decade, ranging from Photorealism to Stylized Animation shows.

I recently had the great opportunity of working Lighting and Compositing artist on "Sausage Party: Foodtopia" , created by Seth Rogen.
This project was a fun and wild ride which gave me the opportunity to expand my skills as a 3D Lighting artist.

I joined a team of wonderful and talented professionals of the animation industry and was exposed to high end industry standard tools such as Katana (3D Lighting software) and Pixar Renderman .
I gained a lot of experience during the course of this project and I had so much fun in the process.

  

  

I began my 3D endeavor when I moved to Vancouver, BC to study at Lost Boys School of Visual Effects in 2012. One of our first assignments was to pick an object and build a 3D representation of it. We learned hard surface modeling techniques as well as capturing high quality textures and build a convincing shader for the prop in order to sell surface qualities of its material. I learned a lot in this project and I instantly fell in love with 3D art. Not only I was learning how to use a 3D tool, I was learning about physics and little nuances of how light affects the materials of objects around the world we live in. This Box Cutter is a simple prop but it is still one of my favorite projects to date.

Robots, Spaceships, cool vehicles, Sci-Fi Tech stuff... It's hard not to want to work on stuff like that when you are given the tools to create ANYTHING from scratch. There are LOTS of wonderful Hard Surface Artists out there but I also wanted to give it a go 🤖
