Pranava Chaitanya Jayanti
Hello! I am an RTPC Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Southern California, mentored by Dr. Juhi Jang and Dr. Igor Kukavica. In July 2022, I received my PhD in Physics from the University of Maryland College Park, where I was advised by Dr. Konstantina Trivisa.
My interests primarily lie in partial differential equations (PDEs) in the context of mathematical fluid dynamics. My current research revolves around the mathematical analysis (weak/strong solutions, Gevrey regularity, global existence) of superfluid flows at different length scales. I am also interested in shell models of turbulence, invariant measures in compressible fluids, and data assimilation. Additionally, I have research experience in the thermodynamics of phase transitions, statistical modeling in the context of structural engineering, dynamical systems, and sensors for cryostats.
In a past life, I obtained my Bachelors and Masters degrees in Mechanical Engineering (with a minor in Physics) from Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai. I was also a research intern at the Institute for Technical Physics, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany.
Below, you can find my CV. For any inquiries/questions, feel free to email me at: pjayanti at usc dot edu.
