If you want ultra-lightweight, open-ear freedom for all-day office wear and active safety, choose PAXA Clip; if you need deep immersion with active noise cancellation to shut out a chaotic workspace, choose SOAR NBA Active Noise.
• PAXA Clip: Strength is its featherlight 4.1g per ear design and 50-hour total battery life that lets you ignore your phone for days; trade-off is the lack of physical isolation or active noise cancellation, meaning ambient office chatter will still bleed through.
• SOAR NBA Active Noise: Strength is the dedicated Active Noise Cancellation and plush over-ear pads that create a quiet sanctuary from loud HVAC systems or coworkers; trade-off is the heavier over-ear form factor which can cause heat buildup during long shifts.
• Best for: The PAXA Clip is ideal for runners, cyclists, or office workers who need situational awareness; the SOAR headphones are best for focused deep work in noisy environments where silence is mandatory.
The PAXA Clip is engineered for people who refuse to sacrifice comfort for connectivity. Its defining feature is the ergonomic clip-on design that weighs just 4.1 grams per earpiece. This isn't just a marketing number; it translates to a physical sensation of near-weightlessness. Unlike traditional earbuds that sit inside the canal, these rest on the concha, allowing natural airflow to circulate. In an office setting, this means you can wear them for ten hours straight without the "plugged ear" fatigue or pressure headaches that plague users of standard in-ear monitors. The open-ear architecture ensures you never feel isolated from your surroundings, a critical factor for safety-conscious individuals working in shared spaces or moving between locations.
For the modern professional, the integration of a 1.3-inch touchscreen directly onto the charging case is a game-changer for convenience. You don't need to fumble for your smartphone to skip a track, answer a call, or even snap a selfie while commuting or during a brief break. The device runs on Bluetooth 5.4, ensuring a rock-solid connection that pairs faster than older generations. With a massive 500mAh charging case providing up to 50 hours of total playtime, the anxiety of running out of power before your shift ends disappears entirely. You can charge it once a week and go about your routine without interruption.

However, this product is not for everyone. Because it utilizes an open-ear design with no passive seal and no active noise cancellation technology, it cannot block out background noise. If your office is filled with ringing phones, clattering keyboards, or construction outside, the audio will compete with that environment. The dual microphones do employ ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) to help your voice be heard clearly by others on calls, but they do not cancel sound for you. If you require a bubble of silence to concentrate on complex tasks, this lightweight design might leave you feeling exposed rather than protected. It is best suited for those who value situational awareness and comfort above total auditory isolation.
The SOAR NBA Active Noise Headphones are built for a completely different use case: total auditory control. These over-ear headphones feature Active Noise Cancellation, a technology designed specifically to neutralize low-frequency droning sounds like air conditioning units, traffic hum, or the general murmur of a busy office. By physically enclosing the ears with fabric and foam ear pads and sealing them against the head, the headphones create a barrier that significantly reduces external interference. This makes them the superior choice for anyone who needs to focus deeply on a project without distraction. The dynamic drivers deliver rich sound within this sealed environment, allowing bass and vocals to shine without being drowned out by the world around you.
Durability and style are also key components here. The enclosure is made of plastic with a distinct Los Angeles Lakers theme, appealing to sports fans who want their tech to reflect their personality. The build includes a 3.5mm jack alongside wireless Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, offering flexibility if you need to plug into a desktop computer or an older audio source. The battery life is substantial, offering an average of 40 hours of continuous playback, which is enough to last through several full work weeks on a single charge. While the design is themed, the underlying engineering prioritizes function, ensuring that the noise-canceling performance remains consistent regardless of the visual aesthetic.
There are, however, compromises inherent to the over-ear form factor. The weight distribution across the top of the head and the pressure of the ear cups can lead to warmth accumulation after several hours of wear. If you are in a warm office or prefer to move around frequently, the solid build might feel restrictive compared to the airy freedom of clip-on earbuds. Furthermore, because they cover the ears completely, you lose the ability to hear colleagues calling your name or important environmental cues like fire alarms unless you pause the music. They are fantastic for blocking out the noise, but they require you to be intentional about when you engage with your surroundings.
• Best for battery life → PAXA Clip offers 50 hours total playtime versus the SOAR's 40 hours.
• Best for noise isolation → SOAR NBA Active Noise wins hands down with dedicated ANC and over-ear sealing.
• Best for comfort during long shifts → PAXA Clip's 4.1g weight eliminates ear fatigue better than any over-ear model.
• Best for situational awareness → PAXA Clip allows you to hear traffic, conversations, and gym instructions naturally.
• Best for call clarity in wind → PAXA Clip features advanced directional audio and dual mics designed to block 90% of background noise for callers.
• Best for sports and movement → PAXA Clip stays secure with its C-shaped bridge design and is waterproof against sweat and rain.
• Best for stationary deep work → SOAR provides the silence needed to focus in loud offices or public transit.
• Best for tactile control → PAXA Clip places a 1.3-inch touchscreen on the case for quick interactions without pulling out a phone.
I would choose the PAXA Clip for my daily office setup. The primary reason is the sheer comfort of wearing something that weighs practically nothing for eight hours or more. In a modern workplace, the ability to stay aware of your environment while listening to podcasts or taking calls is invaluable. The open-ear design prevents the sweaty, claustrophobic feeling that comes with heavy headphones, and the 50-hour battery life means I rarely think about charging. While the SOAR headphones offer superior noise cancellation, I find that the constant need to remove them to communicate or check my surroundings becomes too much of a hassle. For a balance of productivity, comfort, and reliability in an office environment, the PAXA Clip is the smarter investment.
Both have strong claims depending on your needs. The PAXA Clip is often cited as one of the best options for office workers who prioritize comfort and awareness, while the SOAR headphones are top-tier for those needing maximum silence.
No, the PAXA Clip uses an open-ear design without active noise cancellation to maintain awareness of surroundings, though it does use ENC to filter background noise for callers.
The PAXA Clip offers a longer total battery life of 50 hours thanks to its large charging case, whereas the SOAR headphones provide 40 hours of continuous playback on a single charge.
While they are wireless and durable, the over-ear design with foam pads is generally less suitable for intense workouts compared to the waterproof, sweat-proof, and secure fit of the PAXA Clip.
